Umbrella .....

I started with a 5 x 5 inch white card blank....

I die-cut the umbrella man from white card and used a numbers stamp and Versamark ink to stamp and heat emboss with black embossing powder. A black matt was cut from black card and this was stamped with a lines stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossed this with gold embossing powder.

Three cogs were stamped in more Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. These were trimmed out and coloured with yellow Chalk Ink. The word 'smile' was die-cut from white card.

The black matt was edged with Krylon gold and the components were assembled along with some foam pads onto the black matt which was then applied to the card front to finish.

I can Fly ......

This is a postcard made for a Swap over on UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group.  The subject is 'Things With Wings'.

I cut a piece of white card to 6 x 4 inches & made the crackle background over metallic paints with acrylic paint and PVA glue on the card blank.

The wings were stamped, coloured with Alcohol Inks and finished with Glossy Accents.  The digital boy was printed and trimmed out whilst the hat was stamped and coloured with a silver marker. These components were then assembled as shown.  The words printed, trimmed and stuck in place.  I have also used Posca pens & chalk ink.

It will travel through the post 'naked' without any other packaging.  Don't yet know who will receive it as the Swap runs until 31st March 2017.  You still have time to enter if you join the Forum too - we are looking for more crafty members !

Good Junk !

Hope everyone is having a fab Easter and thanks to all followers and commenters for their support, I really do appreciate it.

Here is another 6 x 4 inch postcard done as part of a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  I decided to do a colourful collage.

I used digi prints, stickers and stamping with micron pens to complete it.  Some white was added with a Signo white pigment pen (Thanks Jan !!)

The postcards are sent 'naked' through the post so care needs to be exercised when putting dimensional elements onto them. I always spray with matt acrylic sealant to secure.

The theme had to include a crown somewhere so you can see mine easily !

Fit for a Queen

Here are three ATC's which I have made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  The theme this month is 'Royalty' so I chose two stamps from Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi and a flourish by PaperArtsy.

The backgrounds are digital papers and I have stamped the flourish in yellow and red Memento dye inks.  This has been accented with a gold Posca pen.

The words and crowned lady have been stamped in Memento Jet Black and a little colour added direct to paper with more Memento dye ink.

The letters at the bottom are trimmed papers and the ATC's are edged in crimson chalk ink.

It's A Gift !

Here is a little gift bag I have made to house a little gift for a friend.  It's not often that I do anything without stamping but this one definately does not have any.

I have used my Cricut Expression to cut a box from some pretty printed card using the Bags, Tags, Boxes & More cartridge.  The cutout was then assembled into the bag with sticky glue. The edges were gone over with yellow ochre chalk ink.

I have then cut out a few layers of several of the same flowers from a piece of matching printed paper and edged these with Copic marker before applying over the bag and securing with small yellow brads.

The little gift was surrounded by pale pink crumpled tissue and placed in the bag and a piece of pink stitched grosgrain ribbon tied round the handle.

Pretty Face

Here is a card I have made recently incorporating the colours of turquoise and orange.  The card measure 15 x 15cm and is made from stout white card.  The card has been covered on the front with a piece of digital backing paper with an abstract orange/blue colourway.  It is available in my Etsy store.

The mat has been made from turquoise linen effect card and has been punched with Martha Stewart around the page punches.  A piece of narrow orange grosgrain ribbon has then been threaded through the edging and tied in a bow at one corner before mounting onto the card.

The girls face has been stamped with Memento black ink, cut out with a circular die and then coloured with alcohol ink brush markers.  The orange dots have been added using a Sakura Aqualip pen.  The image has been added in the centre with foam pads to add relief.

The 'On Your Birthday' foiled plate was also added on foam pads.

Finishing touches were added by edging with orange chalk ink.

The Three Faces

Over on UK Stampers Forum I have recently taken part in making a set of three ATC's for a swap.  The theme is 'faces' and I made my three with minimal stamping, lot's of colour and collaged materials.

All use loads of digi-stamped collage elements from various sources and these have been trimmed to collage up the fronts of the ATC's.  I had to use some hats on the faces to make them a bit quirky too !

The only stamps used were to to finally embellish them and all were stamped in Archival black ink using heart, arrow and flower border acrylic stamps.

Final touches were to use my beloved Posca pens in white, black, silver and gold to outline and fill in some areas.  All were mounted onto board and edged with contrasting colours of chalk inks.

Believe in Possibility

This is a little tea-light gift book I made at our Spring retreat but this could be decorated and filled with anything as a lovely gift idea.  It takes the form of a book cover containing a box to take 6 tea-lights and is secured by a piece of seam binding.

Once more it is covered with Pion 12 x 12 in scrapbook papers available fom 3D Jean.  The papers are beautiful and are very subtly coloured and all elements of the book use these papers.

The book cover is decorated with a number of embellishments cut out from the papers (fob watch, mini postcard and stamp) with some layered on foam pads. The only stamp used was the wording on the postcard !

The inside front cover is embellished with a label die cut from the candle box front with a Nestability die. This was edged with moss green chalk ink before adhering. A butterfly was trimmed out from the papers and also stuck in place.

The candle holder box, covered with more paper and the aperture lined with clear acetate before sticking in place on the inside back cover.

Final touch was to add two pale green eyelets with the crop-a-dile tied through with a double length of pale cream seam binding tied in a knot through each eyelet. These were tied in a bow to secure the book closed after filling the box with tea-lights.

The box could be filled with sweetie treats or anything else for that matter dependant on the purpose and decorative theme of the box.

Face Forwards

Here are a set of Twinchies made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  I have used white card, swiped with various colours of Impress dye inks and overstamped in Archival black ink with an old cover stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine.

I have used bleach in a waterbrush to bleach out the faces to obtain that effect.  Each is finished by edging with contrasting chalk inks and embellishing with dots and circles added with a gold Posca pen.

Nice and bright just as I like it !

Nearly a One Layer Card !

Here is a card I made over the weekend.  I have used Lynne Parrella stamps from PaperArtsy stamped in Archval Black on plain white card.  I have masked the main image and overstamped with the festoon border stamp and then offset stamped this with yellow dye ink (Memento).

All colouring was with Copic markers and the sentiment was again stamped in Archival black ink.

The next bit was to add a strip of printed Japanese Washi Tape which takes it to a 2 layer card really
 ..... hence the title !

The card was edged with Maroon Chalk Ink to finish.

Winged Things !

This is a 6 x 6 inch plate I have made in the theme of 'Winged Things' and is my entry into the Crafty Individuals October Challenge over on their blog.

I took a piece of 7 Gypsies floral paper as the background and stamped each corner with a corner stamp from Stampology in Versafine onyx black.  I then cut out some floral elements and a bird from some Dovecraft papers which I edged with dusty concord Distress ink.  These were stuck in place as shown.

Next I made the central element by stamping an old Crafty Individuals stamp onto white card with Versafine.  This was trimmed out, coloured with Marvey Le Plume pens and matted onto some textured purple card.  This was then stuck in place and edged on two corners with metal corners stuck with Glossy Accents.

The butterflies (Crafty Individuals printed 6 x 6 pad) were cut out and edged with maroon chalk ink before shaping and applying on foam pads to add dimension.  The whole sheet was then matted onto purple cardstock and edged in purple chalk ink.

Finishing touches were to add a few pink Prima flowers with Glossy accents and highlight flower stamens and the birds eye with purple Stickles Glitter glue.

Look out, Look out the 31st is About !

Here is my October postcard for the monthly 'Naked Postcard' swap over on UK Stampers !  Bet you can't guess what the theme is.

Yes, it's Halloween of course !

My postcard started life as a piece of A4 plain copier paper which I treated with a homemade blue and silver mica powder spray leaving a portion at the top unsprayed.  I let it dry naturally and built up a couple more layers until happy with the sheen.  I then trimmed out a suitable piece to 6 x 4 inches. The top of the piece was coloured with wild honey Distress Stain applied direct to paper, overlapping the blue a bit.

Next I dribbled a few drops of poppy Sticky Fingers Summer Ink from the top left and allowed it to drip down before drying with a heat gun.  At this stage I sprayed liberally with cheap hairspray to set and seal.

All clear stamps were from a set by PinkPaisley and the side border, 31 and chandeliers were stamped in Archival black ink.  The 'Beware' seal was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Moonglow holly berry red gold embossing powder.

The paper was then stuck onto a piece of stout card with a glue stick and the card was edged with maroon Chalk Ink.  I then sprayed again with cheap hairspray just to be sure it would travel through the post.

Hang on Puss

I have never made a Moo before, but they are 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches in size and these were done as part of a swap on UK Stampers Forum with a theme of '4 legs'.

The main climbing cat stamped image is from Lost Coast as is the text stamp both stamped in onyx black Versafine ink.

The background is made from 6x6 papers from the Basic Grey Lauderdale paper pad stuck onto card cut to size.

The bottom border is a digi print from ARTchix Studio punched out with a Martha Stewart punch.  I have added a few light grey accents on the puss and top of the Moos with Sakura Souffle pen and they were edged in moss green Colorbox chalk ink to finish.
