Light ......

Made a tag for a monthly swap on UK Stampers Forum ......

I cut a base (5 x 4 inches) out of white card and mounted this on some re-cycled packaging for sturdiness. I then stamped a wordy background (Tim Holtz) in Versamark ink and heat embossed this with white embossing powder. I then added some watercolours in a couple of shades of blue with plenty of water and a waterbrush (the embossing resisted this).

Once happy I stamped a few words (AAll & Create) in black and blue Archival ink randomly onto the background. The bulbs (AAll & Create) were stamped onto the background in Archival black ink and stamped again on white card which I then coloured with Prismacolour pencils, trimming out just the bulbs. I then twisted some dark blue craft wire to add detail to the hanging flexes and applied this with Glossy Accents.  Once dry the bulbs were applied over the stamped images on foam pads.

I then added a blue eyelet with the crop-a-dile and tied this through with some mauve gros-grain ribbon after edging the tag in mauve Versamagic chalk ink. I used a Dymo and black tape to make the words and adhered this as shown.

Finishing touches were to add a couple of square silver brads and a couple of iridescent swirls.

Made a decorated tag for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

I took some re-cycled Kraft packaging and trimmed to a tag shape. I then stamped and image (Green Pepper Press) in Archival black ink directly onto the card. I then used a variety of Waterbrush pens, Posca pens, metallic pens to colour the image.

I then chose a vintage boy paperdoll (TH) on foam pads. I applied a black eyelet with the Crop-a-dile and tied some satin ribbons in matching colours through this.

The word (Happy Little Stampers) was stamped onto white card in Versafine black, trimmed out and applied on more foam pads to finish.

Evidence of Art .....

This months 'Take It - Make It' Challenge over on Craft Stamper Magazine Blog is - 'Anything Goes'

I decided to make an eclectic tag for the Challenge and here is how I made it .....

I started with a piece of mauve card cut to tag shape ( 11 x 16 cm ).

I had been given some self adhesive white paper circles which I decided to use as a decoration on the tag base. I used smooshed Distress Oxide inks and a water spray on a non-stick sheet to colour the circles which were then applied onto the tag.

This was then overstamped with a variety of Memento Inks and stamps from Dina Wakley to add some extra colours and design over the circles. I then applied some woven cream 'ruler' ribbon as shown. The tag edges and body was then stamped with some Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder & a gold eyelet applied with a crop-a-dile at the top.

The embellishments were stamped in Memento black ink using another Dina Wakley stamp, trimmed out and coloured with Copic markers. Glossy Accents was applied to the solid black areas and when dry, added on foam pads.

The sentiments (Studio 490 - Wendy Vecchi) were stamped on more of the mauve card in Versafine black ink, trimmed out and matted on white card coloured with the pink Copic.

Some shiny decorative fibres were tied through the eyelet to finish the tag.

Style.....

Made a decorative tag for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

I used  recycled card from a cereal box for the base and covered this with some old book-paper. I then coloured this with Distress inks and cut-n-dry foam and stamped with an inkblot stamp in browns and yellows.

I then stamped three abstract form stamps in Versafine black ink on white card. These were trimmed out and stuck in place as shown. The tag had a black eyelet applied with the crop-a-dile and was edged in black Posca with some swirls stamped in more Versafine ink.

A sticker tab was applied on the top right. I then used some alpha stickers and spelled out the word 'style' on some grey card and applied this on foam pads as shown. I used a couple of silver decorative paperclips as embellishments.

Finally I added some black & white check ribbon, a piece tied around the tag with a small bow and a piece threaded through the eyelet and tied in place with a piece of jute string to finish.

Liked the idea of old paper and black & white together !

Urban .....

I made this tag for a monthly swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

I used a black textured card background cut to size and started by stamping with Versamark  & heat embossing with some Jasper powder which has a gold/brown colourway.

I then added a number of strips of Washi tape and splattered with white acrylic paint.

The main house images are by Teesha Moore, stamped in Memento black trimmed out and coloured with Copic markers .... wanted to add a bit of colour so went with Pink.  The houses were matted onto silver foil card and trimmed out before adding on foam pads.

The tag was edged with yellow Versamagic chalk ink and a fine line added with yellow Posca marker. A hole was punched and a silver eyelet added with the Crop-a-dile and this was threaded through with some silver and pink velvet ribbon to finish.

The words were stamped in Versafine ink and heat embossed with Moonglow violet obsidian embossing powder.

Iridescent Moths ....

This tag was made for a monthly swap over on UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group ......

I cut the tag from white cardstock and coloured with Distress inks applied on cut'n'dry foam.  The swirls were stamped in dark brown.

I have used other stamps to apply various Brilliance pearlescent inks along with the text.

The moths were stamped in archival black ink on the tag and I then made some film from fusing Angelina fibres between two layers of non-stick sheet, ironing to fuse them.  Once cool I have re-stamped the moths in more Brilliance inks before trimming out just the wings and applying over the original images on the tag.

The tag has been edged in brown Distress ink and a green eyelet applied with the Crop-o-Dile and tied through with some rust and green fibres to finish.

Black Tag .......

Here is a tag I made for a Swap over on UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group.

I took black card and cut it into a tag shape. This was stamped with Distress Oxide inks in wilted violet and faded denim then spritzed and dried.  I selectively added more of the inks until the intensity was to my liking before thoroughly drying with the heat gun.

I then diecut a number of flower dies, a lattice and the word from thin white card. These were coloured with a waterbrush and more Distress Oxide ink & were dried before adhering to the card as shown.  Some edging with white pen was done and crystal Stickles was applied on the flowers and word.

Final touches were to apply a black brad with the Cropodile and thread through with some silk fibres in contracting colours to finish.

I have entered this into the 'Happy Little Stampers' Challenge for this month whose theme is 'Anything Goes with Dies'

Things I Love

This little hanging is entitled Things I love and of course is made using a chipboard heart which is 13 x 13 cms in size.

I have had a load of Lynne Perrella stamps by PaperArtsy and have hardly used them so thought I would select one as the focal point for this project. In fact all stamps are by PaperArtsy.

First I stamped the image in Memento tuxedo black ink onto white cardstock.  I then tore the edges and coloured the image with Alcohol ink brush markers in shades of purple and pink.  The edges were touched with a gold Posca pen to highlight..

The base heart was covered in a printed paper of distressed letters on black background.  I then used more PaperArtsy stamps inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with 3 different Moonglow embossing powders for a subtle mica finish (best seen with the naked eye).

Once this was done I took two pieces of ribbon, one turquoise grosgrain and one slightly thinner in purple satin.  The purple satin ribbon was overstamped with another circular LP stamp and more Memento tuxedo black ink and was stuck onto the turquoise with red line tape.  The assembled ribbon band was then stuck in place as shown across the heart.

The heart was then provided with two gold eyelets added with the crop-a-dile and the whole thing edged with more Posca gold pen.  The stamped image was then added on foam pads and the word stickers added as shown.

Finishing touches were to add a length of silk sari ribbon and more of the purple ribbon through the eyelets tied in a rough knot to allow it to be hung.  Just love the colours on this piece.

Eggy Tag !

Here is my tag for the Easter Tag Competition over on UK Stampers Forum.  The one stipulation is that you have to have eggs somewhere on your tag.

I cut the base tag from white cardstock and covered with papers from Kaisercraft (forget-me-not) and My Minds Eye (rosy) 6 x 6 inch paper pads.  Gorgeous papers and the floral one also has glazed portions over some of the flowers which does not show on the pic.

I printed out the eggs and the dictionary definition on the printer and trimmed and mounted them on more cardstock from the pads.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to produce the bottom border out of gold Mirri Card.

The butterfly is a glossy polymer sticker and the letter were stamped onto pale pink card and matted onto green spotty paper.

I used a black Posca pen to edge the tag and add some faux stitches and Distress inks to edge things. I then assembled the components (some raised on foam pads) and added two lengths of green ribbon through a hole cut with a Crop-a-Dile. Finally I added some liquid pearls to finish.

Over on UK Stampers Forum they are having a competition to do an Easter Style Tag ! There are two prizes up for grabs and all you have to do is upload a picture of your creation to the gallery and the winners will be chosen by random number generator on 31st March 2013.

Why not have a go? You will have to join the forum if you are not already a member but it's free to do so. HERE is a link to the post and HERE is a link to the Gallery where the pics are.

Believe in Possibility

This is a little tea-light gift book I made at our Spring retreat but this could be decorated and filled with anything as a lovely gift idea.  It takes the form of a book cover containing a box to take 6 tea-lights and is secured by a piece of seam binding.

Once more it is covered with Pion 12 x 12 in scrapbook papers available fom 3D Jean.  The papers are beautiful and are very subtly coloured and all elements of the book use these papers.

The book cover is decorated with a number of embellishments cut out from the papers (fob watch, mini postcard and stamp) with some layered on foam pads. The only stamp used was the wording on the postcard !

The inside front cover is embellished with a label die cut from the candle box front with a Nestability die. This was edged with moss green chalk ink before adhering. A butterfly was trimmed out from the papers and also stuck in place.

The candle holder box, covered with more paper and the aperture lined with clear acetate before sticking in place on the inside back cover.

Final touch was to add two pale green eyelets with the crop-a-dile tied through with a double length of pale cream seam binding tied in a knot through each eyelet. These were tied in a bow to secure the book closed after filling the box with tea-lights.

The box could be filled with sweetie treats or anything else for that matter dependant on the purpose and decorative theme of the box.

Tims Tag No.4

Here is tag No.4 in the Christmas series.  The white card base was cut to size and some silver snowflake rub-ons were added.  The whole tag was then coloured with weathered wood, faded jeans and broken china Distress Inks.  The rub-ons resist the colour.  Some water splats added a bit of contrast.  A snowflake stamp was inked with more faded jeans ink and stamped randomly.  A couple of punched snowflaked were also added and a punched out acetate snowflake border was coloured with picket fence Distress Stain and added with glossy accents at the bottom.  The tag was then stamped with a dotty stamp and Brilliance moonlight white ink to add some snow effects.

The snowman was cut out of printed paper and edged with broken china Distress, treated with rock candy Stickles and applied on foam pads.  A blue grosgrain ribbon scarf was added round the snowmans neck.

The numbers are self adhesive and coloured with an alcohol marker before sticking onto a circle of blue card.  More snowflake stamping and Brilliance on this too before sticking in place on shallower pads.

A silver eyelet was added with the crop'a'dile and some silk ribbon, two silver stars and a sparkly drop were attached through and around the eyelet.

Finally the tag edges were distressed with sandpaper and given a rub over with more broken china Distress Ink.

Used some of the recommended items on this tag but not many again.

Tims Tag No.3

Here is Tag No.3.  Once again not exactly like Tims and using what I had rather than what I needed to buy !!  I used festive words printed paper to cover the blank tag and then using a Versamark pen highlighted certain words and heat embossed with fine detail clear embossing powder.  I then also coloured some white 'snow' on the letters of the words with a white Posca pen.

The tag edge was then distressed with a piece of coarse sandpaper and edged with vintage photo Distress Ink.

Next I die-cut all of the embellishments using Sizzix dies and the Big Shot and various coloured cardstocks.  These were bent to shape and coloured also with some more of the vintage photo ink.

These were then stuck in place as shown using Glossy Accents and foam pads and the berries were added (self adhesive gems).

The tag was finished with a silver eyelet cut and fixed with the crop'a'dile.  The angel charm was attached with a brad through the eyelet and some sparkly gold star & swirl ribbon to finish.
