LIM Challenge #472

It's time for another Challenge from 'Less Is More' .....

This time we are asking that you use Vellum in a Clean And Simple card of your making, following the guidelines on the 'Less Is More' blog of course !

This is my card for the Challenge:

I made a 5 x 5 inch white card base from 300gsm white card and then cut a 4 x 4 inch matt from more white card, the matt was edged with blue Versamagic chalk ink.

I then selected a piece of cloud printed Vellum, tearing the top and bottom edges before embossing with a swirl design. The Vellum was applied across the matt adhering at the back.

The sentiment (Paper Smooches) was then stamped on white card in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was trimmed out, edged with chalk ink and matted onto blue card trimming to leave a border. This was then applied as shown on foam pads.

Finally the background was added to the card blank to finish .....

We do hope you will join us with a card of your making and if you would like more inspiration then why not visit the 'Less Is More' blog where you can see more inspiring makes from my fellow Design Team members. Click HERE to go there ......

Summer .....

A set of Artist Trading Coins made for a swap in UK Stampers Forum in the theme of 'Summer Holidays' .....

I made the bases from stout re-cycled food packaging which were naturally Kraft coloured on the inside. I die-cut the suns from yellow card. The beach-huts and sentiment  (Crafty Individuals)were all stamped on white card with Versafine black ink, the beach-huts being heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I trimmed out the huts and coloured with alcohol markers and Distress Inks washes before trimming out. I also trimmed out the sentiment and edged with black ink.

I took a length of Washi tape and applied at the bottom then added the beach-huts and sentiment, finishing with the sun. Each ATC was edged in blue ink.

Nothing like relaxing in the Summer sun with a drink and good company ..... Cheers !

Fleur De Lis .....

Made a tag for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ......

I started with a background made with an embossing folder (TH) coloured with blending brushes and Old Paper & Bundled Sage Distress Ink. This was applied to more card and trimmed to size. I also added some chrome metallic ink to the rivets on the background. I then stamped some lines with dots in Archival Sepia ink as shown.

I selected a chipboard Fleur De Lis and edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink after stamping with an alpha stamp in more Sepia Ink.

I then stamped the sentiment in Sepia, trimmed out and matted onto green card. This was added on foam pads.

The arrow & numbers were die-cut and applied as shown. I cut and applied an eyelet with the Crop-a-Dile and threaded through with hessian trim holding in place with a staple to finish .....

ATC .....

Recently purchased a set of Sizzix Chapter 3 Tim Holtz dies. This ATC & Envelope uses dies from the 'Collector' set ....

Decided to make a quick ATC and Envelope using the dies. The ATC holder was die-cut from double sided paper and I also cut an aperture into the front of the holder to reveal the ATC inside. The ATC was then die-cut twice, once from printed paper and once from black card. The front of the ATC was then edged with purple Distress Ink and stamped with dotty circles in Archival purple ink & stars in Versafine black ink. The printed layer was then attached to the black layer to give the ATC strength.

Also in the set are some tag dies so I cut a tag in black card and another in the design paper. I also cut 'No.' into the black tag. The black tag was adhered over the patterned tag and applied to the ATC.

I also cut the numbers from black card with more of the dies in the set and applied as shown to finish.

LIM Challenge #471 ......

Well folks, it's that time again to join us at 'Less Is More' with a clean and simple card.

This one is a One Layer Card which means you cannot have any layers and the design must be applied directly to your card ... please ensure you follow the Guidelines to be in with a chance of being ShowCASed or to win ......

This is my Design Team card for the Challenge:

I chose the flower stamp and stamped this directly onto a 5 x 5 inch white card blank. I used Versafine black ink which was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The image was then coloured with Inktense pencils and the colours spread with a waterbrush working within the embossed outlines of the flower.

The word 'Dream' was stamped in more of the same ink as shown to finish ..... simple !

If you need more inspiration then please click HERE to have a look at the blog and to see my fellow Design Team members cards .... certainly worth a look.

Cross ......

A set of Artist Trading Coins made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

The bases were die-cut from re-cycled food packaging to 2.5 inches diameter. I then prepared the background by painting black card with a blend of iridescent red medium mixed with magenta acrylic paint. Once dry this was again die-cut to size. I then used an AAll & Create stamp and stamped each background in Versamark ink followed by heat embossing with metallic mauve embossing powder.

The backgrounds were applied to the bases and some of the crosses were edged with white Posca pen and embellished with small emerald green adhesive gems.

The words were cut from green labelling. Each Coin was then edged with green Posca to finish......

Shells ....

Made these Inchies (1 x 1 inch squares) for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ....

The bases are punched from re-cycled food packaging. I then prepared a background from blue ink sprays and iridescent blue mica spray, allowing to dry before adding dark blue Distress oxide through a triangles stencil. This was heatset with a heat gun.

I then took a shells stamp and stamped each Inchie with Versamark ink and heat embossed with a dark purple Moonglow embossing powder. The images were enhanced with red Posca pen and two very small red cabochons were added attached with Glossy Accents. Difficult to show the shine and iridescence of the background and embossing ! But they look rich !

The decorated squares were added to the bases and edged with red Versamagic chalk ink to finish ....
