I can Fly ......

This is a postcard made for a Swap over on UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group.  The subject is 'Things With Wings'.

I cut a piece of white card to 6 x 4 inches & made the crackle background over metallic paints with acrylic paint and PVA glue on the card blank.

The wings were stamped, coloured with Alcohol Inks and finished with Glossy Accents.  The digital boy was printed and trimmed out whilst the hat was stamped and coloured with a silver marker. These components were then assembled as shown.  The words printed, trimmed and stuck in place.  I have also used Posca pens & chalk ink.

It will travel through the post 'naked' without any other packaging.  Don't yet know who will receive it as the Swap runs until 31st March 2017.  You still have time to enter if you join the Forum too - we are looking for more crafty members !

Good Junk !

Hope everyone is having a fab Easter and thanks to all followers and commenters for their support, I really do appreciate it.

Here is another 6 x 4 inch postcard done as part of a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  I decided to do a colourful collage.

I used digi prints, stickers and stamping with micron pens to complete it.  Some white was added with a Signo white pigment pen (Thanks Jan !!)

The postcards are sent 'naked' through the post so care needs to be exercised when putting dimensional elements onto them. I always spray with matt acrylic sealant to secure.

The theme had to include a crown somewhere so you can see mine easily !

Little Collages - Freebie ATC's

Here are two collaged ATC's made from digi images along with stamping and some freehand penwork using Posca Pens.

I just love bright and bold colours and these just show what you can mix & match.  They are collaged on grey board.

Would love to know if you like them and I will send them to one commenter if you follow my blog and leave a comment.  Deadline for comments is 29/03/14 after which I will use a random number generator to select the chosen one !

If you are chosen I will ask for your postal addy so I can send the ATC's.

Good Luck !!

Isn't it Cool !

Doesn't happen very often does it? But it's great when it does !!

Here is another entry into my small Moleskine journal.  The background was started ages ago and incorporates Dylusions sprays and acrylic paints applied through stencils with a sponge.

Some arrows were added with a stamp and some more yellow acrylic paint, later on.  The background can be seen at the end of the post.

I thought the jigsaw pieces represented bits of life very well and these were stamped with Memento onyx black ink and coloured with alcohol ink brush in lime.  Red dots were added with a Posca marker.

The edges of the pages were stamped with a border stamp in archival black ink to define them.  Words were printed out on the computer and trimmed to size.

Further doodling with Posca pens and the final shot shows the background before the words and embellishments were added.

One a Day

Here is a 3D postcard measuring 6 x 4 inches.  This one would be very challenged going through the post without losing some of its components in transit so this was done as part of a swap over on UK Stampers where we could send our dimensional postcards in an envelope or padded bag to preserve their art through the post.

The background is of teal stained wood and is a digital print I have applied some Viva gold paint in splodges to the background also on the left.  This has been embellished with some black chipboard frames with inchies behind.  I have also done some flourish stamping in Memento tuxedo black.

The flourishes are die-cut using a Sizzix die and these have been edged with a black fineliner pen.  I have also used some moss green floral Washi tape, gold Posca pen and some gorgeous green flat backed cabochons.  Finishing touches were to add some Versamagic chalk ink in touch of pesto around the edge and some faux stitches.

Nice sentiment as we all learn at least one thing each day don't we ?

Owl of Achievement

This ATC is going to America, to be framed as a symbol of learning for a University tutor who kindly asked me to make it specially to go on the wall of her study .......... hope you like it Charlotte. I have used mountboard as the base.

The collaged ATC is made up from various images, stamping and penwork.

The whole thing has been edged in blue chalk ink. Hope it is what she was expecting !

Outside The Box

Just completed another double page spread in my Moleskine journal.  Love the words on this one and it's certainly Zetti inspired.

The background was made using stencils and spray inks (pictured before any layers were added at the bottom of this post), in purple, lime green and maroon.  Some yellow Dylusions paint was added with a credit card. The pages do warp severely but also do relax over time especially when the journal is closed with its elastic closure.

Stamping with black Archival ink was done with  'club' , hand and arrows stamps.

Lots of doodling in various colours of Posca markers including some gold,

The images are digital and have been stuck onto the background and edged in black Posca.  The words are printed on the computer and trimmed out.

Some dimensional pearls in cranberry have been added to provide a little depth

This was the page after first spraying with the desired inks.

Another enjoyable project which has taken a while to complete.  You know what they say 'Onwards and Upwards' towards the next two pages, but I am getting there !!

Love Bird

This is a postcard done for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum for this months theme which is 'Featherd Friends'.  I decided to do a quirky postcard and because I am into collage at the moment I have used a blend of digi-images, stamping and penwork.

The eggy bird and ruler was stamped with PaperArtsy stamps in Archival black ink whilst the feathers are Lynne Parrella stamps also from PA.  The star border was stamped in signal red Memento ink.

The words and hearts have been edged in Posca pen.

Not sure who will get this yet but it has to be able to be posted 'naked' to it's recipient so no envelope allowed.

The Three Faces

Over on UK Stampers Forum I have recently taken part in making a set of three ATC's for a swap.  The theme is 'faces' and I made my three with minimal stamping, lot's of colour and collaged materials.

All use loads of digi-stamped collage elements from various sources and these have been trimmed to collage up the fronts of the ATC's.  I had to use some hats on the faces to make them a bit quirky too !

The only stamps used were to to finally embellish them and all were stamped in Archival black ink using heart, arrow and flower border acrylic stamps.

Final touches were to use my beloved Posca pens in white, black, silver and gold to outline and fill in some areas.  All were mounted onto board and edged with contrasting colours of chalk inks.

Four Square Inchies

This box started its life as a Selfridges gift card presentation box, covered in shiny black paper.  I have decorated the top of the box with a set of digi inchies from ArtChix studio which I have trimmed and adhered with Glossy Accents to the top and sides.  I had to halve the inchies on the sides.

I then infilled between the inchies with red Stickles glitter glue and allowed to dry.

Finally the lid was embellished with three flowers made out of die cut book pages made with a Bigz Sizzix die.  I have edged the flowers with red alcohol ink and stuck them together and to the lid with sticky dots.

Very simple indeed with no stamping at all.  Love the vibrancy of the colours of the inchies set off by the book page flowers.

Easter Eggy?

Whilst away recently for a weekend retreat one of our group, Hannah gave me a little gift of some digi images and papers with a challenge to make a card there and then........ so I did, and this is it.

The only stamping on this one is the sentiment !

I started by cutting out the egg and adding some Glossy Accents on the flowers, I put this aside to dry.  I used Nestability dies to cut three mats - one from stripey patterned paper, one from white card and one from kraft card.  These were attached to a blank textured white card with the paper being mounted on 1mm foam pads.  The egg was added last.

A piece of matching ribbon was attached with double sided adhesive and a paper ribbon bow from the gift added at the left.

The Easter sentiment (Papertrey) was stamped in Archival black ink on white card, trimmed out, edged with burnt sienna chalk ink and mounted on foam pads.

Have enough to do a few more in time for Easter too !

'Flying' Journal Page

Another bit of double spread journaling in my 21 x 13 cm Moleskine journal .  This time entitled 'Flying'.  The background was made using spray inks, acrylic paints with masks over a pre-gessoed page.  The page is pictured at the end of the post prior to having any decoration added.

The flying girls are collaged and are a digital download from the lovely Helga at ARTchix Studio .  These have been trimmed out and stuck in place.  I just love the butterfly winged dress and hat on the girl on the right !

Lots of doodling with Posca pen in red, gold, black and yellow and stamping with Archival black & green inks with a leafy vine stamp helped hold the design together.

Finally the words were printed on paper with a pink background, trimmed out and finished with more Posca pen before sticking in place.

I do find it difficult to know when to stop adding things and am still finding out what I really feel comfortable with as my 'style'.  I am really loving doing these though and have lots of ideas which I still want to try.
