Greenery .....

After being inspired by Corrie Herriman I decided to have a go at making a mini paper book ... really enjoyed making it and used mainly AAll & Create stamps (Tracy Evans) with other freebies from a magazine. I tied the finished book with some natural jute twine ....

Decoration of the gessoed pages was stamped with selective areas of one stamp. Coloured with watered Distress ink and a waterbrush along with Inktense pencils. Washi tape, an inchie and stencilled flowers with Distress Oxide decorated with adhesive gems in contrasting colours. All book page edges and the spine were treated with Krylon Gold pen. Posca markers were also used to add highlights along with Glossy Accents.

Embossing .....

Over on UK Stampers Forum we are running a 'Triple Heat Embossing' Challenge. This is my entry.

I started with a white card blank. I then cut a matt from some oriental paper and applied a piece of red ribbon centrally on red-line tape adding a gold Washi tape stripe along its length. This was then matted onto some metallic gold paper and again on black card.

The main Triple Heat Embossed embellishment was made on a Stampbord circle using black UTEE adhered with Versamark ink and an old rubber stamp by Elusive Images inked with Brilliance galaxy gold ink. This was then applied over the ribbon on red-line tape.

Two red square gem brads were added as shown and a plaque which says 'Love' in Chinese. the matts were then attached to the card blank to finish.....

Butterfly......

A Butterfly card .....

I started with a square white card blank and cut a smaller matt which was treated with white gesso applied through a butterfly stencil to act as a resist. Once dry i made washes from Distress Oxide inks in iced spruce and worn lipstick and smooshed the gessoed matt through the colours, removing some with a tissue and drying between coats. I then spattered with gold acrylic ink and stamped some sewn lines in Versafine black ink. I stamped a cross and numbers in the same Distress ink colours.

The butterfly(AAll & Create) was stamped in charming pink Versafine Clair ink and trimmed out. It was then coloured with washes of the same Distress Oxide colours. The nib body was coloured with more gold acrylic ink. I then positioned the butterfly where I wanted it and drew round it with a grey Inktense pencil and drew out the colour with a waterbrush to form a shadow on the background. The butterfly was then applied on foam pads over the shadow.

The butterfly word (AAll & Create) was stamped out in Versafine black, trimmed out and matted on green card before applying to the background and edged with a shadow as before.

The card was finished by matting the background on pink and green card and adhering to the card blank.
