Christmas Wreath

Christmas is always time for door decorations and festive makes.  This paper wreath was inspired by my dear friend Jean and this is my take on it.

All made from printed and pearlescent papers and is around 12 inches diameter.

It sits on a round base and each of the double cones is made from an oval of the paper.

The decorations inside the cones are diecut from pearlescent paper as is the central poinsettia.

The centre is decorated with some faux gem mesh coloured green with an alcohol marker.

It now languishes on my inner porch door.

Frosty !

Ta daa !!  Let me introduce 'Frosty' the snowman  !

My good friend Effie, at a recent craft weekend, gave us a project class to make one of these fab snowman decorations, thanks a lot for the tuition and this is my resultant creation.

His body is filled with rice and is both squigy and weighty and made from cream velvet which has been embellished with Brilliance pearlescent inks and a rubber icicle stamp which has been heat embossed into the pile side of the velvet by ironing onto the inked stamp.  Some pale blue heat set jems have been added randomly.  The body was cut from a circle and gathered with strong thread after filling with the rice.

His head was made from a polystyrene ball coated with Snowtex and glittered whilst still wet.  His eyes are black sparkly brads, his nose a whittled piece of wood coloured orange with an alcohol marker and his mouth is 5 black glass headed pins.  His neck is a piece of thin dowel pushed into the base of the ball.

His ruffs are made from patterned paper and tulle netting.  His hat is made from the same patterned paper made into a cone and embellished with some pompom ribbon and a crystal snowflake stuck in place with hot melt glue.

Once complete his head was stuck on the body with hot melt glue.  I have also added some extra Stickles glitter glue on the ruff and hat to finish.

I love him and Doesn't he look great ?

Pink Emporium .........

Bit of a different colourway for Christmas on this card.  I have used a 5 inch square white card as the base and layered 3 contrasting papers onto this.

I next added some thin black velvet ribbon on double sided tape across the card.

The sentiment is one from Graphic 45 and was stamped in Versafine black in onto a piece of pink textured card and trimmed out.  This was edged in black ink and mounted over the ribbon on foam pads.

I then added some pink faux gems as shown to finish the card.

Definitely very non-traditional !

Glittering Snowflakes !

This Christmas card meets the requirements for the City Crafter Challenge blog week 241 whose theme is 'Glittering Snowflakes'.

I trimmed a piece of blue pearlescent card and matted this onto a white card blank.

The snowflake was diecut and treated to a coat of ice blue glitter.  This was positioned and stuck in place centrally.

Some faux gems were added around the edge and a silver embossed plate added on foam pads in the middle. Very glittery !!

'Tis The Season

Another Christmas creation from me.  This card started life as a 5 x 5 inch Kraft card base.  Onto this I have layered a few pieces of matching decorative paper from some 12 x 12 inch sheets.

The central red matt has been stamped with a deer stamp in black Archival ink before tearing out. Some blobs of Stickles glitter glue have been added on the baubles and the base tied with some festive coloured bakers twine before mounting on foam pads.

The word plate was stamped in black Memento ink on white card, trimmed out and coloured with a pale blue alcohol ink marker.  This was also mounted on foam pads.

The faux gems were added last as shown to finish the card.

Ohh Joy !!

This 4 x 4inch Christmas card was made very simply.  No matting just stamping and Stickles glitter glue.

I used a set of mini stamps I have had for ages and started with a circle around which I stamped the various stamps in Memento dye inks to build up a wreath.

I then added Dimensional Pearls and Stickles glitter glue and stamped the word Joy in the centre with Versafine black ink.

This card fits the bill for the  City Crafter Challenge Blog week 240 ~A wreath for this season

Peace on Earth

On this run-up to Christmas I have decided to make all my own cards this year.  This is one of them. I started with a 6 x 6 inch square white card blank.

I then chose some patterned paper to make a matt for the background.

The tree (PaperArtsy) was stamped in black Versafine ink on some plain green paper and this was trimmed out as shown.

I then coloured some faux gem mesh with a blue alcohol ink marker and trimmed out individual gems and applied these onto the image.

The tree was adhered onto the base matt.

The sentiment was stamped onto white card, edged in blue ink and applied on foam pads.

Only 23 days left !

Nine Square ........

This Christmas card started life as a 4.5 x 4.5 inch white card blank.  I then used a set of small Christmas themed stamps by Hampton Art.  I stamped 9 of the images on white card in Memento black ink and coloured some parts with a yellow Marvey le Plume alcohol ink marker.

I then used a 1 inch square punch to punch out the images.  A small amount of gold Stickles was added to the ribbons on the bells.  I then put some more white card through the Sizzex using an embossing folder and trimmed out the background matt.

The matt and the inch images were edged in black ink and assembled as shown with the inchie images mounted on foam pads.

Just Because .......

As a little light relief from Christmas cards here is a little card I made on a 4.5 x 4.5 inch Kraft card base.

I have used Teresa Collins papers and collaged all elements as shown. Some were trimmed out and edged with a Micron pen.

I have embellished with some green coloured bling & edged with some lime Washi tape.

I have used red Liquid Pearls to add some further relief also. The plate was matted and stamped with the sentiment in Archival black ink. Some Stickles glitter glue was applied to add some more sparkle.

Twin Tags

Here are a couple of Kraft tags I made.  I used Dylusions sprays to colour the tags with a red and a green, drying with a heat gun.

I then used a Dylusions stamp and Versamark ink which I heat embossed with a pastel green opaque embossing powder.

Extra detail was added with a barbed wire stamp and a flower stamp which I inked in Archival black ink.

Final touches were to add some red Dimensional Pearls to represent holly berries, white blobs in the flower centres with a Posca marker and the sentiment was stamped in moonlight white Brilliance ink.

Some Stickles glitter glue was added on the petals to add a bit of bling and they were tied through with red, white and green bakers twine.

I thought these added a different dimension to Christmas gift tags.

Enjoy the Moment !

Perhaps her moody face would not encourage you to 'Enjoy The Moment' but she is a Zetti stamp after all and you know what they are like.

The card was made from a 5 x 5 inch plain white card blank.  I have covered the card with a couple of pieces of printed paper.  The striped bit on the left has a flock finish.

Onto this I have stuck some paper which has been diecut with a frame in the middle, made from more patterned paper.

The central plate was stamped in black Memento ink and selectively coloured with Marvey alcohol ink pens.  Black faux gems were adhered to the corners of the frame and it was mounted on foam pads in the middle.

Last but not least was the sentiment which again was stamped in Memento ink on white card, edged and trimmed out before mounting on more foam pads.

We Three Trees !

Another Christmas card I have made.  The base card is made from pealised cream card.  I have matted a piece of striped paper onto this as the background.

The trees and sentiment plate (PaperArtsy) were stamped in black Versafine on some plain white card and trimmed out.  The trees were stuck in place onto the striped paper mat and a few hills drawn with a fine Micron pen to ground the trees.  These were infilled in places with a gold metallic pen.

The wordplate was embellished with some Stickles glitter glue and applied as shown on foam pads. This one can be entered into the Less is More Challenge for week 198 whose theme is 'More than one Tree'.

Just for You !

Just crafted this card using stamps and collage elements.  The white card blank is 5 x 5 inches square.

I started by stamping some numeric leaves (Dylusions) in black Versafine ink using a mask so I could overlayer them.

Onto this I have layered printed papers separated by thin Washi tape strips.

I made a word plate with some more paper stamped with the sentiment and applied this on foam pads to finish.

Keep in Touch .......

Here is a simple collaged card I have made.  I used a square Kraft card as the base and collaged on a few elements as shown.

I started with a square of printed text paper. The red chevron band was stamped in red dye ink and trimmed.  The stamped image is one from Zetti and she was stamped in Memento black ink and coloured with Copic alcohol ink markers with her eyes highlighted with a white Posca pen.  She was diecut into a circle and matted on another larger diecut circle in pink.

Finishing touches were to add a paper flower with a little pearl centre and the word plate which has been stamped, trimmed and mounted on foam pads.

Maybe she looks a bit stern but I do love the image !

One layer Christmas !

I have used this tree stamp previously but made another card which fits the requirements for the City Crafter Challenge Blog for week 237 whose subject is 'a one layer Christmas card'

I started with a plain white card blank (4.5 x 4.5 inch) and stamped a chevron stamp (Stampin' Up) several times in a horizontal line with Memento dye inks in purple, orange and green.

The tree and sentiment were stamped in black Memento.

I finished off the tree with some spots of Stickles glitter glue in the centres of the snowflakes.

Monochrome medley

Lots of viewers liked and commented on my monochrome Christmas card made a few days ago so I thought I would have a go at a couple more.

They are very simple to make.

Both are made on 4.5 x 4.5 inch white card blanks and are stamped in Versafine black ink as I think this gives a really dense black coverage when being stamped.

I have stamped a swirly corner stamp 4 times directly on the card to make a frame and then added a printed plate in the middle on foam pads.

The second card again uses a different corner stamp but this time stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with  graphite sparkly embossing powder.

The tree was stamped as shown and the baubles spotted with a silver leaf pen.

The word was stamped on a piece of white card, trimmed out and applied on foam pads.

I think I will be doing more monochrome card this year and they are quite simply done too !
