LIM Challenge #467 ......

Time for another fortnightly Challenge from 'Less Is More' this time a one layer card .... you are challenged to make a card with 'Just One Image' although you can add some words if you like.

Remember the design must be added directly on the card with no layers at all and plenty of white space to meet the CAS requirements .......

This is my fruity DT card for the Challenge and I did use a stamped phrase on mine ......

I used a 5 x 5 inch white card blank. both stamps are by 'A Stamp In The Hand' ...

The pear stamp was coloured selectively with Tombow brush markers and stamped directly onto the card front after 'huffing' on it to add moisture. It's a while since I used that technique but liking the effect. I used a waterbrush to spread the colour in a watercolour effect and edged the image elements with the bullet end of the markers ....

The sentiment was inked with Versamark black ink and again stamped directly to the card front to finish....

Please visit the 'Less Is More' Challenge blog to see some more inspiration with card makes by my fellow Design Team members by clicking HERE to go there .....

Love pears too !

Coin ....

Made an Artist Trading Coin to trade .....

I die-cut the base to 2.5 inches diameter from re-cycled food packaging and covered this with some printed paper from Crafty Individuals.

The butterfly was die-cut using a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die and applied to the coin, rasing the wings on foam pads. I also used some clue Stickles glitter glue to the wings. The edge of the coin was coloured with lilac Versamagic chalk ink and some dots of purple Posca marker.

Finally a word was cut from Washi tape and applied to finish .....

Tree ....

A simple card made recently ......

I cut a piece of smooth hot press 300gsm watercolour card and stamped this with a tree stamp (Crafty Individuals) in Archival black ink.

This was then watercoloured to attain a sunset behind the tree with a rather turbulent sky. Once dry I matted this on two complimentary colours of card to form a frame.

The sentiment was stamped and die-cut into a banner and applied at the base of the tree. The matts were then added to a 6 x 6 inch white card blank to finish ......

Vision .....

Here is a tag made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ......

I started with a piece of white card which I stencilled with green Distress Ink and edged with blue Distress Ink. This was trimmed to size before mounting onto some brown Kraft card to leave a border.

The blue roses were painted with brush and watercolours before trimming out and applying to the background, one of foam pads. They were centred with violet adhesive gems.

The Hare (Crafty Individuals) was stamped on white card with Versafine black ink, trimmed out and coloured with more distress ink and a waterbrush. This was applied on foam pads as shown and grounded with Inktense black pen.

The sentiment was torn from some Washi tape (AAll & Create) and applied underlining with purple Posca marker. The tag was edged in dots of the same purple Posca marker before cutting a hole with the Crop-a-Dile and adding an eyelet. The tag was finished with some violet satin ribbon .....

Magenta .....

This card was made for a Challenge over on UK Stampers Forum in the colour theme of 'Magenta & Grey' ....

The card base is a 5 x 5 inch card blank. I cut a white matt and coloured this with a wash of Picked Raspberry and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks applied to a glass matt and smooshed after adding water from a spray bottle.

This was then stamped with outline and solid leaf stamps in the same colours of Distress Oxide. Three gem flowers in magenta were added as shown. The background was then matted onto Magenta and grey card matts.

The sentiment was stamped on Magenta card in Versafine black ink which was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was trimmed out and matted onto more grey card before applying on foam pads as shown.

The matts were then added to the card front to finish .....

A set of Twinchies ( 2 x 2 inch decorated squares) made for a swap in UK Stampers Forum in the theme of 'Crowns' ....

I cut the bases from re-cycled food packaging. I then made a Gelli Print background using stencils and acrylic paints. This was also cut to make 4 2 x 2 inch squares.

I then stamped the background with a crown in Versamark ink and heat embossed this with gold embossing powder. Four small gems in gold and red were added with glossy accents to the points of each crown. These were then attached to the bases.

I then chose a word stamp and stamped this as shown in Archival black ink under the crown. I added some torn purple spotty Washi tape strips and edged with purple Versamagic Chalk ink to finish.....

LIM Challenge #466 ......

Once again, another 'Less Is More' Challenge is live today .....

You are Challenged to make a CAS card in the theme of 'Masculine' & here is my DT Card for the Challenge ......

I started with a 5 x 5 inch white card blank.

I then chose a stamp from PaperArtsy and stamped this on white card with Versafine black ink, heat embossing the image with clear embossing powder. It was trimmed out and the hair and face coloured with Distress Ink washes. The coloured image was then matted on brown Kraft card leaving a thin border.

The image was applied to the card front as shown. I used some metal letters in frames to spell out the word 'MAN' and applied these as shown.

The sentiment was stamped in brown Versafine Clair ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimming out and matted onto more brown Kraft card before attaching as shown to finish the card ....

I thought the colours and the image were great for a mans card ......

Hoping that you will join with us this time and if you want more inspiration please visit the 'Less Is More' blog by clicking HERE to see my fellow Design Team members cards .....

The Coin bases were die-cut from re-cycled food packaging. The backgrounds are made using a Gelli Plate with acrylic paints and stencils. They were also die-cut to fit the bases.

I then stamped a scalloped circle stamp in Versafine black ink directly onto the backgrounds and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Some decoration was added with Posca and Acrylograph pens. The backgrounds were then added to the coin bases.

I then coloured some card with watercolours paints and Distress Oxides, die-cutting two sizes of flower which were shaped and layered before adding to the Coin centres.
