Timmy's Tag Day 12

Phew.....just finished the LAST one before Christmas Day !  This is it, another feat of improvisation.

The Base tag was cut from white card and a piece of Tim's paper adhered and lightly rubbed over with pearl acrylic Dabber.  The egdes were distressed with course sandpaper and coloured with vintage photo Distress Ink.  I don't own any movers and shapers dies so I just cut a circle of grungepaper and heat embossed it twice with dark maroon embossing powder held in place with Versamark ink.  I coloured the chipboard letter directly with barn door DI and added a few pink stickles to the edges before sticking onto the bauble.  The bauble was then stuck in place with Glossy Accents and a little green ribbon bow applied at the top and some gold ribbon and brad to act as a hanger (no wire on mine !).

The calender month of December was cut from TH papers and edged with vintage photo DI and stuck in place on foam pads.

The holly leaves are green sequins applied with red brads (as berries) in a little group at the top of the calender as shown.

Final touches were to add a gold eyelet with the crop-a-dile and to thread through some red ribbon tied in a loop.

Done IT !!  Now to relax with a little sherry..............

Timmy's Tag Day 11

Here we go again with Tag No. 11 ....... Yipeee!!! just one more to go.  Once more really heavily improvised, only the Distress inks were Rangers !!

The background was made from white card covered in Yellow Pages paper heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, a snowflake stamp and Versamark ink.  It was coloured with faded denim, cracked glass and stormy sky Distress inks and edged  (after distressing) with blue iris chalk ink.  I had no tree die so stamped with a PaperArtsy swirly tree and Versamark,  heat embossing with dark green embossing powder with some of the branches topped with frosted lace Stickles..  The other tree was another PaperArtsy stamp inked in black Archival ink on green textured card.  I have treated the spots with more of the dark green EP, added a little silver pen at the top and applied frosted lace Stickles (ohhh that makes 3 Ranger products now!).  The trunk was wrapped round with some blue fine metallic thread and tied off before mounting on foam pads as shown.

The top of the tree was finished with a gold star brad poked through with a pokey tool.

The brass nameplate was added with brads after cutting a little oval of white card to fit the aperture and colouring with antique linen DI.  The words were also coloured with the same ink and stuck in place with Glossy Accents (4 Ranger items !).

Finishing touches were to add a gold eyelet with the crop-a-dile and thread through with some gold ribbon adorned with a gold charm.

Timmy's Tag Day 10

Here is Tag No.10.  Nearly there now !  Just 2 more to go in the Tim Holtz '12 Tags of Christmas' series.

This one again is much improvised.  The snowman is not a diecut but a stencil marked onto grungeboard and cut out with scissors.  I have used pearl Acrylic Dabber instead of snow cap.  The hat was coloured with brown paint, the nose with orange and the arms made from card and coloured with Marvey Le Plume II pens.

At least the background is as it should be !

The holly on his hat is a punch and the berries are red brads. The ribbon is a piece of chiffon ribbon. The words are self adhesive stickers.

The clear plastic packaging is from a sizzix pack and the embossing folder is not the snowflake one. It has been attached with brads and a clip.

Finishing touches were to apply an eyelet with the crop-a-dile and to thread a piece of silver mesh ribbon through the hole adding a charm and a snowflake brad to hold in place.

Timmy's Tag Day 9

Another one of Tim's Tags, this one is No.9 and now only 3 to go before Christmas Day ! I started with a white tag, cut to size.  The background was made using a music stamp (?) inked with Archival black ink and stamped twice at the top of the tag.  The colouring was done using wild honey and brushed corduroy Distress inks rubbed onto a non-stick craft mat and sprayed with some pumpkin blush Glitz Spritz mica spray with the tag being smooshed through the inks and dried with the heat gun a couple of times.  The edges of the tag were roughed up with coarse sandpaper and inked with walnut stain DI.

The bottom of the tag was measured out and a row of pewter brads applied and these were battered with the edge of a small hammer to distress them.  The rosette was made using the TH (Sizzix) die out of TH printed paper and was edged with walnut stain DI and sprayed with the pumpkin blush spray.  The centre was decorated with an old button applied on a glue dot.  I had no tinsel so I used some fancy ribbon applied behind the rosette as shown.

The letters were die- cut from dark brown linen effect card using the Sizzix 'The Ginchiest' typeface and the Big Shot, stuck in place with glue-pen and glossed with Glossy Accents.  The rosette was then stuck in place with a large glue-dot.

Finishing touches were to add an eyelet with the crop-a-dile and thread through some brown and silver ribbons and apply a dangly piece of old jewellery.  The other embellishments were a brad holding some more of the silver ribbon in place and two gold dew-drops.

Timmy's Tag Day 8

Once more a belated Tim's Tag....this time it's No.8.  Again I have improvised heavily.  The only real TH stuff is the Distress inks and the houses Sizzix ' On The Edge' Die along with rock candy Stickles and Tissue tape.

The sleigh and reindeer are made from stencils applied over a blank white tag with masking tape to obscure everything but the images.  Rubbed over with fired brick Distress Ink and then stamped with a snowflake stamp in black Archical ink.  The stencils were then removed and some masks made from these images.  With the masks in place I used  stormy sky DI and overstamped with a flourish stamp (?) in black Arcihval ink.  Once the masks were removed the effect was quite similar to that of Tims.

The houses were diecut from grungeboard, coloured with turquoise acrylic paint and grunged with coarse sandpaper before applying smoke made from florists wire and rock candy Stickles before sticking down with Glossy accents.

The clockface was made from an original clear watchglass stuck over a cutout of a clockface with glossy accents.  The finger was again a real finger stuck on with glossy accents.  A metal corner embellishment was added as shown.

Finishing touches were to add the words on a piece of tissue tape and to add an eyelet with the crop-a-dile, threaded through with ribbons and an old bit of a beaded necklace.

Triplets ATC's

By way of a change from Tags !  These are three collage style ATC's I have made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  The theme was '3 of a kind'.  I have used mini tags as my theme, 3 on each ATC and because it's December have given them a festive feel with Stickles, sequins and overstamping !

Timmy's Tag Day 7

Next one in the series of Tim Holtz Tags............this one is Day 7 and I am determined to finish the series before Christmas Day.  The background tag was made from white card first coloured with wild honey Distress Ink and a blending tool.  I didn't have the woodgrain embossing folder so I used a cuttlebug folder that  I did have and coloured the folder with walnut stain DI before embossing.  The tag was then edged with vintage photo DI after roughing up with course sandpaper.

The poinsettia came next and I did use the two Sizzix dies to produce the petals and leaves but this time I used linen cardstock instead of grungepaper, once coloured and cut out I assembled all of the petals on 3 large sticky dots finishing off with a large pale green plastic gem.

The letters were actually white flock self adhesive ones that I first coloured with fired brick DI and heat dried before sticking onto the tag.  The flourish was cut from Grungeboard and coloured with white brilliant white emulsion paint before colouring the edges with vintage photo DI.  This was cut in two and applied with Glossy Accents as shown.

Finishing touches were to apply a gold eyelet with the crop-a-dile and add a short length of silk ribbon, threaded through and tied around with some green wire.  I cut the 25 from some of Tims printed paper, coloured the edge stuck in place and added a half pearl .  That's it !!

Timmy's Tag Day 6

One more added to the Christmas collection !  This one is No.6 and, you guessed it, I improvised a lot on this one too.  I started with a white base tag and coloured it with tumbled glass & weathered wood Distress inks (applied with cut'n'dry foam).  I then used a flourish stamp (?) and inked and stamped with wild honey Distress Ink in a random manner.  The edge was then distressed with a piece of course sandpaper and inked with walnut stain DI.

I didn't have the reindeer die so I used a stencil I had and stencilled the deer in weathered wood DI and then trimmed out with scissors.  I then edged this with walnut stain DI and stamped with a snowflake stamp inked with the same ink in a few places.  I made the antlers from the cracked glass TH embossing folder !  I embossed it onto white card, coloured the relief in wild honey DI and selected a bit of cracked glass embossing I liked and trimmed this out with scissors.  Once trimmed I edged it with dark brown Marvey Le Plume II pen and stuck in place behind the deer.  Instead of a tinsel collar I used a piece of turquoise fine metal mesh tied round with some green wire and held in place with double sided tape at the back.  The ribbon is a brad with its 'legs' cut off and adhered with a glue dot.  I didn't have the trees embossing folder either so I cut out two trees from some printed paper and coloured these with forest moss DI after embossing with a dots embossing folder.

The label was made from the TH collage embossing folder which containes a ticket so I embossed this onto white card first coloured with wild Honey DI and cut out the tag which was then wiped over with fired brick DI to colour the relief.  I applied a little 'happy holidays' clear sticker to finish.  I did have some of the music tissue tape and made the banner with it as shown.  The tag was then assembled with the reindeer and ticket on foam pads for relief with a star snap on one side of the ticket.

Finally I found some turquoise 'sewn edge' ribbon and threaded this through a hole and eyelet made and applied with the crop-a-dile.  Onto this I threaded a circle charm with the word 'treasure' on it and stuck on a little silver crackled silver star bead.

Timmy's Tag Day 1

Here is my Day 1 tag of the Tim Holtz '12 Days of Christmas' series.  Yet again I have improvised heavily on this one.  The house is made from chipboard that has been coloured with wild honey Distress Ink and stamped with a distressed lines stamp with walnut stain Distress ink.  The edges of the roof and windows were decorated with clear glass glitter applied with glossy accents.

The background tag was made from white card with Distress inks in faded jeans, stormy sky and tumbled glass Distress inks rubbed on a craft sheet and wetted with home made gold mica spray.  The tag was repeatedly rubbed over the craft sheet to build up layers and dried each time between layers.

The wreath was a ready made embellishmentt and the trees (PaperArtsy) were stamped in pine needles and coloured with the same, before adding with glossy accents and foam pads.

The fence (Sizzix) was stamped onto acetate with versamarks and heat embossed with seafoam white embossing powder, trimmed out and stuck at both sides over the house and trees.

Final touches were to stamp Noel (PaperArtsy) twice and colour with stormy sky before trimming out and sticking in place.  Whilst adding an eyelet with the crop-a-dile and tying through with some blue ribbon finished the tag.

Timmy's Tag Day 2

Here is my belated Tim Holtz Tag No.2 of the series of 12 'Tags of Christmas'.  Not quite on track but it's good to be different !!

I cut the base tag from white card and once again I have improvised.  Firstly I didn't have the fir & cone stamps so I used a fir stamp (PaperArtsy) and selectively coloured the end of the fir twig in brown ink.  I did heat emboss with detail clear embossing powder before colouring the background of the tag with weathered wood & stormy sky Distress inks and cut'n'dry foam.

I used a cherry pie old music stamp inked in vintage photo and a swirls stamp inked in pumice stone to stamp the other elements of the background.(none of the stamps were TH actually).  I then applied a distress dots stamp inked with galaxy gold Brilliance ink around the edges.

The 'Merry' polymer stamp was inked with barn door.  Again I didn't have a metal bird so I used a grungeboard swirl treated with Viva gold croco crackle paste and applied in two places trimming edges closely.  The whole tag was edged with dark brown chalk ink.

Final touches were adding a gold eyelet with the crop-a-dile and threading through and tying with red and green silk and grosgrain ribbons embellished with an oval gold cabochon.

Cool Snowflakes

This arch is done as my inspiration for the Gothic Arch Challenge whose theme for this is a Seasonally apt  'Snowflakes'.  Not that we have not had enough of snow and flakes over the past fortnight !!

The background is made from a piece of white card covered in pale blue printed paper with snowflakes which I have altered with Dstress inks in fired brick and tumbled glass applied over a stencil made from a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and dark pink card.  Once the punched stencil had been used it was cut up ready for application as an embellishment.

A strip of snowflake printed card was applied at the base leaving a 1/4 inch border and the edges were coloured with the same Distress inks.

A snowflake stamp was used to stamp a few random images with archival black ink.  The clear sentiment stamp was inked in Versamark and heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder.  The whole arch was edged with gold Krylon pen before adding the snowflakes and a ready made layered snowflake, finishing with diamond and  icicle Stickles glitter glue for a bit of sparkle.

Altered Envelope

This piece started life back in our November  retreat in Yorkshire when I was presented with a green A5 Transit Envelope by HannahBanana !  I thought 'What am I going to do with that?'  I then started making elements for it but have only just completed it.  Lot's of borrowed punches and other things enabled it to come to fruition......so thanks to all who provided !

The central plate was made first and I used allsorts on it, various stamps (PaperArtsy) stamped in black archival ink, formed the basis and Distress inks layered in colours.  A punch for the right edge (love this one....but can I source one at the moment ?).  Some heat embossing using an ink blot stamp with copper embossing powder & Versamark ink, Glossy Accents and  Stickles glitter glue.  I also used the house border die-cut scrap as a stencil and coloured in a 'shadow' image at the base with moonlight white Brilliance ink applied directly from the pad.

The green envelope itself was coloured with green and blue Distress inks over the TH swirl stencil to set a background.  I used a rectangular piece of green linen textured cardstock as a base and punched out the edges with a snowflake edge punch from Martha Stewart.  This plate was coloured with forest moss Distress ink and a blending tool with cut'n'dry foam.

The 'Do Not Open Until Dec 25th' stamp (PaperArtsy) was stamped onto white card, punched out and coloured with the blending tool using forest moss and worn lipstick Distress inks.

The houses (die-cut using a Sizzix TH 'On The Edge' die), was coloured with Distress inks and heat embossed with various glitter embossing powders and rubbed over with forest moss Distress ink to tone down the colours.

All elements were assembled and stuck into place and a few large snowflake images were stamped with Brilliance platinum planet ink.

Finishing touch was to add a tan button threaded with a couple of holly berries and a couple of sequin holly leaves.  These were adhered with a large glue dot.

This one would make a great envelope for money or gift coupons to give as a Christmas pressy !
