This weeks Wednesday Stamper challenge was to produce something in the theme of 'PEACE'.
I decided to use a Peace Paperartsy stamp from the Winter Wonderland Plate 5. This I stamped in black Stazon three times slightly offset on purple paper. I then used Inktense ink pencils and a waterbrush to shade the faces and hair of the figures. I then cut out the piece.
Then I used a bird and twig stamp which I stamped on white paper with olive green Stazon. I then cut the bird from the leafy twig and just used the birds head. I collaged all three elements onto a home made background made using spray inks. I again used Inktense ink pencils and the waterbrush to add colour to the twig, leaves and bird. The idea was to make it appear as if the bird was holding the olive twig of peace. Once satisfied with the colours I edged the plate with silver Krylon pen.

Sunday Challenge No. 7
Here is my offering for the UK STampers Sunday Challenge , this weeks theme is 'Talk Like a Pirate'. My pirate theme is undersea and I have made a sort of collage piece depicting pirate treasure.
I painted a real scallop shell with a couple of coats of Lumiere green acrylic to start. Then I made a little square box (coloured with metallic green ink), and attached a large green flat backed jewel to the top. I then threw in some coins, pearls and other green and black large jewels. I made a plate out of dark green leather texture card and spelled out the words using wooden scrabble pieces which I edged with green dye ink. Finally I stamped a map of the world and heat embossed in gold EP colouring the background with green and blue dye inks.
It was really done very quickly as I have pondered all week as to what to do. Hope you like it :)

My heart.............ATC
This ATC was done as my first entry to the Think Monday, Think ATC challenge. The subject this week is Handwriting.
I cut the ATC from white board and adhered a piece of printed background paper to it with handwriting printed on a cream background from K & Co Lifes Journey. I then chose a rubber stamp with the words 'My Heart Is Like A Singing Bird' and stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous twighlight embossing powder and a heat gun.
I cut out a medallion from the same paper and dabbed this with moonglow delphinium turquoise Starburst Stain, again drying with the heat gun. The ATC was sprayed with moonglow desert moon endless sky Glitz Spritz and allowed to dry and edged roughly with some more starburst stain. I used a calligraphy swirl stamp (anon) and stamped twice with Brilliance meditteranean blue ink.
The medallion had a small fabric flower applied centrally and this was secured with a pewter coloured square brad before attaching as shown with foam pads to give depth.
I would have used some of my own handwriting..........but it is really bad, so I opted for a stamp instead.
Hope you like it :)

Structures ATC's
This set of three ATC's was done as a swap on UK STampers Forum. The subject was buildings/structures and I did a series of rather subdued,( for me) , ATC's.
All three incorporate clear adhesive tape transfers. This technique is simple, but effective and here is a summary of how to do it:
First select your image from a glossy magazine, (it must be glossy for the transfer to work), and cut out what you want roughly. Next, take a strip of the widest clear self-adhesive tape that you have and place carefully over the image without trapping air or creasing the tape before firmly rubbing over the surface of the tape to ensure an intimate bond with your image. I find it best to use the flat surface of a bone folder or alternatively the handle of your scissors to do this burnishing. When you are happy that the image is well adhered, trim it to the size, or width, of the tape that you used.
Next, get a small bowl and fill with warm tap water. Place your taped image into the water, (it will curl up), and wait for a minute or so until well wetted. Then use your fingers to rub off the wetted paper from the back of the tape. This is a bit messy but you will find that the printed paper goes into a pulp and when rubbed off leaves an image of what you covered with the tape on the sticky side of the tape. Ensure that you remove all of the paper and rinse the tape and image thoroughly before allowing to dry.
If you are lucky this image will still be adhesive and ready to apply to your surface (ATC in this case). If it is not sticky then apply a thin coat of Glossy Accents and smear over the surface before applying to your receiving surface. Again, burnish the transfer onto this surface with the edge of a bone folder or the handle of your scissors until happy that it has stuck. The image is transparent and does allow whatever is on the background to show through, so plan what you intend to do before you apply the transfer.
I used three colours of background card - lemon, peach and green - first trimmed to size, which I stamped around the edge with vintage sepia Versfine ink and a couple of border stamps from All-Night Media (48361B & 48363B) before applying the tape transfers.
The finished ATC's have words stamped on with black Stazon ink using Making Memories magnetic stamps to finish. They were edged with dark brown Colorbox chalk ink.
Hoping you like these :)

'The Blue Cap'
This is my first entry to the Wednesday Stamper Challenge. This weeks theme is 'Put Your Thinking Cap On'.
I cut a piece of white board and applied Distress Inks in worn lipstick, tattered rose and dried marigold with cut'n'dry foam, building up layers and drying in between. I then stamped down the left hand side with a stone background stamp fom the Judikins artifacts cube (67181) with Versamark and embossed with Stampendous antique gold fine embossing powder. The right hand part of the base was then stamped with Whispers sepia dye ink applied to a Art, Life and Beauty text stamp from Hero Arts (G2678).
The base card was then matted onto some dark rose textured card and trimmed to size. The boy with the cap embellishment was cut out from an old magazine and applied in two parts with glue stick as seen. The word escape was stamped in Brilliance Mediterannean blue as seen. The letters spelling out 'The Blue Cap' were from K&Co and were given a light patting with Colorbox chalk ink in french blue before being applied with dabs of Glossy Accents to finish.
Hope you like it :)

3 x 3 Inchie Swap 1
Here are Inchies made for the 3 x 3 Inchies swap on UK STampers Forum. This months theme is 'NUMBERS' . I have used some fairly heavy card as a background and applied a page out of an old electronics book to the card with glue stick. This was then cut into the Inchies with a trimmer to make the bases. I have simply applied Whispers Dye inks with Cut'n'Dry foam, blending to achieve a graduated effect. I have then applied some dimensional antique epoxy number stickers in various positions. I used a single eyelet stamp (anon), stamped with Versafine vintage sepia ink. The Inchies were finished with edges in blue iris Colorbox chalk ink.

Asian Summer ATC
I seem to be doing a load of ATC's lately. This one uses an Asian collage wood mounted rubber stamp from Inkadinkado (93073 . N). On the main panel I used this very stamp and Versafine onyx black ink on plain white card. The colours were added using Lyra Aquacolour water soluble crayons in green, pink and orange. These were added direct to the card in the areas requiring colour and worked and blended in using a waterbrush. When dry Glossy Accents was added to the central motive and allowed to dry overnight. The back of the panel was painted with two coats of Jacquard Lumiere metallic green acrylic paint and this was then allowed to dry. Then the edges of the panel were finished with wisteria Colobox chalk ink. The bottom left corner of the panel was folded over to reveal the metallic green and this was stuck down with glossy accents. I then added an oriental style bead again stuck down with Glossy Accents as shown.
A 2.5 x 3.5 inch ATC was cut from hammer finish lilac card on the rotary trimmer and this was stamped with a Lavinia leaf trail polymer stamp in olympic green Versafine. The panel was adhered at an angle, with double sided adhesive, to the textured side of the ATC which was finished again with wisteria Colorbox chalk ink.
This ATC was so easy to make..........I often think simple is most effective. Hope you like it :)

Orange, Yellow & Red ATC's
I selected a number of background papers in line with the colours and then cut three ATC's from yellow card to start.
The top ATC was first stamped with a Funstamps Scribble Flower (F-F64) using Brilliance pearlescent poppy. Then I tore a piece of orange paper and coloured the torn edge with orange Whispers Dye Ink direct to paper. This torn piece was stuck onto the bottom of the card and trimmed to fit. A stamp from ARTSpecially for you was then inked with satin red Versafine and overstamped on this orange strip. A 'journey' magnetic sentiment stamp from Making Memories was then stamped onto some background paper with Versafine satin red and this was trimmed and edged with warm red Colorbox chalk ink before sticking onto the ATC. Finally two blobs of Glossy Accents were added to the centres of the stamped flowers and the whole ATC edged with warm red Colobox chalk ink to finish.
Bottom left ATC was stamped with Versamark and an image from the foliate quad cube background stamp from Stampendous (TC51). This was heat embossed with some peach opal UTEE from Once Upon A Stamp. A piece of dark red paper was cut to a square and heat embossed with Versamark and Ranger lemon yellow EP. This was matted onto some orange paper and the matt stuck in place. The whole ATC was edged with warm red Colorbox chalk Ink to finish.
Bottom right ATC was first stamped with an anonymous swirl stamp with Whispers orange dye ink and overlaid with two matts of coloured background paper. The inner matt was first heat embossed with Versafine and maroon EP using a Dovecraft floral heart stamp (DCRS96). A silver square brad was coated twice with the same maroon EP and heated to melt and this was applied as shown. The magnetic 'Cherish' sentiment was inked with Stazon black cherry and stamped as shown. The whole ATC was edged with warm red Colorbox chalk ink to finish.
That's it.........hope you like them :)

Sunday Challenge No 5
Here it is, my entry for this weeks UK STampers Sunday Challenge........only finished just in time !
I used my Cricut and cut two S's in the George font at the largest setting out of pale green card.
On the base 'S' I have just stamped all over with a small acrylic flourish stamp in olympic green Versafine. I have edged the 'S' with dark brown Colorbox chalk ink. The front 'S' was sponged with cut'n'dry foam and Ranger Distress inks in shabby shutters, pine needles and dried marigold. I then stamped with a flower flourish stamp in vintage sepia Versafine. I then used fresh green Colorbox pigment ink and stamped some more of the floral flourishes which I heat embossed with Sparkle n Sprinkle peanut butter EP.
Holes were punched with a crop-o-dile and thin ribbons in brown and cream tied through them top and bottom of the 'S'. To finish two brown flat backed stars was added and the front 'S' stuck offset over the back 'S'.
Hope you like it :)

A Charming Collaboration
This is a little gift made for a friend of mine who has been very sick for quite a long time. The collected charms from contributors will be suspended from a charm bracelet to hopefully make her feel better and help her recover more quickly.
I used a 4 x 4 inch piece of card (to go into a little book with a photo of the charm) from fairly light, white card. I used acrylic paints in pale gold, light green and mid-blue which I drizzled from the bottle onto the surface and roughly spread horizontally across the card with a dry brush to cover the surface. This was allowed to dry naturally in a fairly thick coat. I then stamped with a swirl stamp and Brilliance mediterranean blue ink. I finished off with my own (horrendous) handwriting and a blue brush pen with a sentiment that I had collected for just this type of gift.
The charm was made using sanded clear shrink plastic and a stamp by Zettiology (37-197-F)which was stamped first in Stazon ultramarine ink. Once dry this was cut to size and marvy le plume II pens in ochre and purple were applied direct and allowed to dry. A hole was punched with the Crop-a-Dile in the top left corner before shrinking and flattening with a heat gun.
Once cool the charm had a silver jump ring applied to enable it to hang from the bracelet.
Hope it does her a world of good :)
