Crowning glory .....

Made a set of Inchies for November for a swap over at UK Stampers Forum ....

Used old corrugated packaging as the base and made a Distress Oxide background on white card. Punched out the squares with a 1 inch square punch.  The birds was stamped on the background with some silver and white penwork and I added a sparkly gem. The wings were glazed with Mod Podge and the finished Inchies edged with green Alcohol ink pen to finish.

Alice Coins ......

After being sent a wonderful gift from Jannet Blay from a blog Challenge on her blog 'Enchanted Place' my interest in Alice in Wonderland was re-kindled !  Also she had wrapped the gift pieces in gorgeous 'Rabbit' tissue paper which I saved and used in these Coins !

I die-cut the 2.5 inch diameters circles from white card and covered each with the tissue paper applied with a soft brush and loads of matt Mod Podge.  When dry I stamped a number of AIW images in Memento Ink and coloured these with Copic Markers before trimming out.

The images were applied after being edged with black ink and the wording was stamped directly on the coin using black Archival Ink.

A couple of red heart shaped gems were applied as shown onto each coin and they were edged in red Copic marker.  They were backed with Kraft card.

The envelopes were made after stamping liberally with a red heart and the apertures cut with another smaller die.

Thanks Jannet !!

Tissue & Texture ......

Made these ATC's for a Swap for September on UK Stampers Forum Facebook group !

I have used crumpled tissue paper and Mod Podge on the bases & texture paste through a stencil. Colour is from Acrylic paints, Posca markers, Chalk ink and decoration with crystals and glitter glue. Stamps have been used extensively too.

Going Green ......

Thought I would 'Go Green' with this card, but neither green in the environmental way nor with envy either.  No, green as in the colour Green instead !

I diecut some paper flowers from an old book (Tattered Florals TH) on the Sizzix.  They were then sprayed with Dylusions ink sprays and allowed to dry.  I cut a piece of white card and applied 3 of the flowers onto the card with Mod Podge glossy paper medium and a brush and allowed to dry.  The card was then trimmed and the remaining white areas treated with peeled paint Distress ink.  Where the Mod Podge hadn't sealed the card the ink soaked into the porous paper and produced a shaded background which I liked.

I then added a length of lime grosgrain ribbon and a diamante ribbon slider and applied the ribbon on red-line double sided tape.

Three fabric flowers were added for dimension over the paper flowers and were secured with green pearl brads in the flower centres.

The plate was matted twice. First on some printed paper and second onto gold mirri board before being stuck onto the white card blank.

Finishing touch was to add the round green sentiment saying 'Thankyou'.

This card meets the requirements of the Artful Times Challenge No. 66 whose theme is 'Green'.  So why not hop over there and enter one of your green creations too.

Cheeky...........

This is my entry for the UK Stampers Postcard swap this month.  The red cheeks give away the choice of title for this card. The theme for August is open so I have done a very colourful card keeping in mind that it has to travel to it's recipient through the post with no other protection.

I cut a piece of plain white card to 6 x 4 inches and set about with a stencil and Distress inks in barn door, wild honey and dusty concord, overlaying the colours each time until the desired colour depth was obtained.  I used a Lynne Perrella stamp of a feather and stamped this around the edge of the card in moonlight white Brilliance ink ...... it's subtle but I think looks good.  The edges of the card were then heat embossed in detail gold embossing powder.

The main image is another sizeable Lynne Parrella image from PaperArtsy which I stamped on more white card in Versamark ink.  I then heat embossed the image with detail gold embossing powder for the outline.

I then coloured the image with Marvey Alcohol Ink brush markers and trimmed out the image.  I used Mod Podge matt for paper as the adhesive to firmly attach the image on the Postcard.

This swap is very popular so why not join in by clicking the link at the beginning of the post?

Sixes & Sevens

First post of this New Year !!  This is a 6 x 4 inch postccard made as part of a challenge on UK Stampers Forum.  The subject this month is 'Numbers'.  The postcards have to be able to be posted naked to your swapee too so no big and bulky embellishments. I started with a large card bingo board trimmed to size.

I used stamped images from Lynne Perrella and Paper Artsy, scrapbook paper fragments and punched elements along with self adhesive numbers collaged with paper Mod Podge.

All the elements were edged in chalk inks and some penwork was added with  gold, white and black Posca pens.

Finally the whole postcard was painted with more paper Mod Podge to seal.

Spring has Sprung

It's been simply ages since I posted, somehow life got in the way ! This little number is my homage to Spring in that it makes me feel brighter and the sun is actually shining outside today.

I have had the mini canvas (2.75 x 2.75 ins) in my hands so many times and have never done anything with it to date. I used tissue paper, stamped images and napkins for the background, all adhered and held in place with Matt Mod Podge.

I had been sent a very lovely paper napkin as a RAK and tore the edges (which contained images of cherries) and adhered these with the Mod Podge and a soft brush. I then stamped some text onto pale pink tissue paper with Versafine vintage sepia ink, again tore this and adhered several pieces across the canvas using the same method. I finished off by stamping an image (free coverstamp from Craft Stamper Mag) with Cherry Red Stazon onto pink tissue and applied this as before. I left one or two bits of the canvas showing through too.

Next I cut the lady image from a mini postcard and edged with black ink. This was applied over the collaged canvas (once dry) with Glossy Accents as shown. A piece of pink velvet rik-rak ribbon was applied with glossy accents and this was embellished with a button tied through with a thin piece of dark green braid and adhered on a glue dot.

To finish I added a coat of victorian velvet Distress ink applied with cut'n'dry to the sides of the canvas. I love the way that tissue paper allows the other stamped layers to show through.

Hope you like it !

Bottletop Canvas 'VALUES'

I decided to do small canvas to collage my bottletop art made for a swap run by my fellow crafter Hazel over on the UK Stampers forum. She challenged us to make a piece of artwork using at least one crown cork (beer bottle top). The collage is 7 x 5 inches in size.

Here is what I used to make it:

  • Crown Corks (gold)
  • 7 x 5 inch gessoed canvas
  • UTEE (Clear)
  • Embossed words
  • Fabric Daisies
  • Lumiere Paint (bronze, crimson)
  • Glitz Spritz (Gold)
  • Plastic flower stencil
  • Stamps (squares background - docrafts, textured stripe - anitas, small leaf - see-d's morsels, postal stamp - crafty individuals, alphas - making memories magnetic)
  • Brilliance Inkpad (platinum planet)
  • Stazon Inkpad (cherry red & jet black)
  • Swirl Chipboard
  • Tissue paper (lilac)
  • Paper Mod Podge (Matt)
  • Metal Hinges
  • Metallic snaps
  • Printed card (calligrahy)
  • Printed papers

Altered bottlecaps

I first made the altered bottlecaps. I selected some suitable colour printed images from magazines and cut out circles to fit inside the bottlcaps. These were stuck in place with glossy accents. Next I cut out some silver foiled words to fit inside the caps. I then added a small amount of clear UTEE and melted it with a heat gun (the cap was placed on a firebrick to protect surfaces from the heat). When the UTEE had melted I added another amount and again heated. This was repeated several times until the cap was nearly full with molten UTEE. The finished caps were allowed to cool completely before adhering to the selected fabric flowers with glossy accents.

The chipboard swirl was given a couple of coats of Lumiere metallic bronze paint and allowed to dry.

The printed calligraphy card was trimmed with fancy edge scissors into two pieces, these were edged with dark brown Whispers dye ink and stamped randomly with the postal stamp in gold ink.

The hinges were fitted with two snaps each applied with the cropodile.

The Canvas

The canvas was completely painted lightly with Lumiere crimson paint allowing brushmarks to show in an uneven manner. This was allowed to dry thoroughly. Next the plastic flower stencil was placed on the canvas and the rest masked off with paper. The gold Glitz Spritz spray was then generously sprayed over the stencil, removed carefully and dried with a heat gun. This was repeated as necessary. Next the textured stripe stamp was painted quickly with Lumiere bronze and stamped on the top left side of the canvas and allowed to dry (the paint was removed from the stamp quickly before drying). The squares background stamp was inked with Brilliance platinum planet ink and applied down the right hand side of the stamp. When dry a small leaf stamp was inked with Stazon cherry red ink and stamped in the centre of each of the squares.

The word 'VALUES' was stamped onto the lilac tissue paper in Stazon jet black, trimmed and applied as shown with the paper Mod Podge.

The canvas was then assembled as shown adhering the chipboard swirl and printed cards with glossy accents, the flowers with large glue dots and the hinges with super glue.

Hope you like it :-)

Red Hot ATC

Here is an ATC I made for this weeks TMTA (Think Monday Think ATC) Challenge whose theme was red. The background is made by sticking random pieces of printed paper onto the cards surface and adhering with matt paper Mod Podge. When dry I have used a corner flourish stamp and versamark and heat embossed with marquesite EP. The lips were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with claret EP. The words were stamped with studio G letter stamps and black Stazon. The whole ATC was edged with red chalk ink.

Hope you like it :-)

Edited to say I got my card in the TMTA Sampler........what a nice suprise !!

Autumn ATC's

These three ATC's are my interpretation of an Autumn theme as part of a swap with a friend in America who I have been swapping with for a good while now.

The first was stamped directly onto orange base card with Versafine vintage sepia. I used the leaves set from the See D's range. I then hand coloured the leaves in Autumn colours with Inktense watercolour ink pencils before applying Versamark Pen to selctive areas and heat embossing with a range of embossing powders - clear, tapestry, penny copper and gold. I edged the card with a fine line of gold Krylon.

The second was made with two skeleton leaves which I coloured with Starburst Stains in yellow and brown before sticking to the plain white card with paper Mod Podge and allowing to dry. I gave them two coats. I then used various brown and green sprays from Sticky Fingers to colour the card and leaves. Finishing off with a copper spray and edging with dark brown Colorbox chalk ink.

The third used white card as the base with three applications of marigold yellow orange Starburst Stains from a dabber. I allowed these to dry and then stamped a leaf See D's stamp in brown pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut a strip of orange textured paper and punched leaves out of it at, mounting this over some green paper. This banner was then applied with glue to the top half of the card. Two lengths of chiffon ribbon were attached top and bottom of the leaf strip using double sided tape to adhere. The top ribbon was decorated with blobs of Stickles glitter glue in green. The edges of the card were finished with dark brown Colorbox chalk ink.

Hope you like them :-)
