Grunge .....

A handmade Birthday card with a grungy collage style ....

I started with a 6 x 6 inch white cardblank. I then die-cut a frame in green card.

I set about making the collaged insert. I started with a piece of printed paper with letters in red, green & orange and die-cut a piece of this.  I selected a range of Lynne Perrella & Dyan Reaveley stamps and stamped using Memento inks in a random manner.

The three women were stamped again in black ink onto white card. The cheeks were coloured in red Posca pen. These were trimmed out ready to be layered over the original stamped image.

White acrylic paint was spattered over the  square and when dry some black Posca was added to highlight some letters.

The edges of the square were treaded with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder .... setting with the heat gun. The green frame was applied centrally on the card base on foam pads and the decorated square stuck in place within the frame.

I then layered the womens faces were layered on foam pads and two metal cogs added with Glossy Accents.

The 'Happy Birthday' (Happy Little Stampers) was stamped in Versafine black on white card and this was trimmed and layered over a piece of orange card which was also trimmed to leave a border. This was added on foam pads as shown to finish.

Sewn .....

This CAS card was made as my entry into the 'Less Is More' Challenge #416 which is a one-layer card with no sentiment ......

I used a 5 x 5 inch white card blank and scored some cross lines with the score board. I then stamped the sewn flower centrally in the central square in Versafine black ink. This was coloured with Distress Inks and a waterbrush directly onto the image. Some white highlights was added with a white Posca pen.

A very simple card but quite effective ......

Bunnies ....

Another Easter card made recently .....

I made a white card blank (5 x 5 in). I started with a piece of pink squared paper die-cut with a sewn edge die. This was matted onto some black card to form a border.

I applied a piece of magenta glitter Washi tape two thirds down on which to ground the sitting bunny.

The three bunnies (Rango Zoo) were stamped in Memento black, coloured with Copic markers and trimmed out. They were applied as shown on foam pads and some white Posca pen added to show movement.. I then stamped some flowers and leaves (Woodware) and again coloured with Copics and trimming. The leaves were applied directly and the flowers on foam pads. I have added some black Enamel Accents on the flowers. The clouds were stamped on blue paper, trimmed out and applied as shown. I have embellished with some turquoise Stickles Glitter Glue.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped on white card in black Versafine ink, trimmed & matted on black before being applied on foam pads. I added a number of white Posca white dots.

Once dry the decorated matt was applied to the front of the card to finish.....

Bunny.....

Decided to make some Easter cards and this one is a mini (3 x 3 in) Clean And Simple card and features a cute bunny......

I made a Distress Oxide background and die-cut a bunny from it. I edged the die-cut with black Copic marker and added an eye. I used a Posca Marker and added some white dots on the bunny.

I took the 3 x 3 white card blank and added a strip of pink Washi tape embellished with a strip of small adhesive gems. The bunny was added on foam pads.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped in Versafine black ink onto white card. Trimmed out, edged with black Copic and added on more foam pads to finish.

Liking the clean look of this simple card.

Smile ......

There is a Challenge on Country View Crafts blog at the moment whose theme is 'The Eyes Have It' and I decided to enter it with a mini handmade card ....

I used a 3 x 3 inch square white card blank as the base. I then stamped a face stamp (Judikins) on white card in Memento black ink. This was coloured with Copic markers.

I then covered this with a printed clear adhesive sheet and trimmed out. This was matted onto black card and trimmed to leave a border. I doodled around the black border with a white Posca Pen before applying centrally on the mini card-base.

Finally I stamped the word 'smile' (Papertrey Ink) in Versafine black to finish. Loving these mini greetings cards.....

Hoppy Eyes .....

There is a Challenge on Country View Crafts blog at the moment whose theme is 'The Eyes Have It' and I decided to enter it with a whimsical card ....

I used PaperTrey Ink stamps in the main to make the scene & thought the froggys eyes needed to be blue.

I used a 6 x 6 inch white card base and die-cut a piece of blue/green background paper with a square sewn edge die. I then used Distress Ink and a waterbrush to make the bluer water area at the base, drying with a heat gun. This was decorated with white Posca Pen. The background was matted on black card and trimmed to leave a border. This was applied centrally on the card blank.

I then die-cut a couple of wildflower pieces using a Tim Holtz die and these were coloured with Copic markers, cut down and applied as shown.

I stamped froggy, the lilypad and the sentiment  in Memento black ink on white card. The frog and lilypad were then die-cut, coloured with Copic markers and white Posca Pen. I applied Glossy Accents to the pad and froggys eyes. These were applied as shown on foam pads. The sentiment was matted on more black card and mounted top right on foam pads.

Finishing touch was to stamp the bee and trail in Versafine black ink !

Evidence of Art .....

This months 'Take It - Make It' Challenge over on Craft Stamper Magazine Blog is - 'Anything Goes'

I decided to make an eclectic tag for the Challenge and here is how I made it .....

I started with a piece of mauve card cut to tag shape ( 11 x 16 cm ).

I had been given some self adhesive white paper circles which I decided to use as a decoration on the tag base. I used smooshed Distress Oxide inks and a water spray on a non-stick sheet to colour the circles which were then applied onto the tag.

This was then overstamped with a variety of Memento Inks and stamps from Dina Wakley to add some extra colours and design over the circles. I then applied some woven cream 'ruler' ribbon as shown. The tag edges and body was then stamped with some Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder & a gold eyelet applied with a crop-a-dile at the top.

The embellishments were stamped in Memento black ink using another Dina Wakley stamp, trimmed out and coloured with Copic markers. Glossy Accents was applied to the solid black areas and when dry, added on foam pads.

The sentiments (Studio 490 - Wendy Vecchi) were stamped on more of the mauve card in Versafine black ink, trimmed out and matted on white card coloured with the pink Copic.

Some shiny decorative fibres were tied through the eyelet to finish the tag.

Coffee.....

Think we all need coffee at the moment with our challenging situation. I decided to make a card featuring coffee today.

I started with a 5 x 5 inch square white card blank. I then die-cut a frame from brown Kraft board and applied centrally on the front of the card.

I then stamped three coffee cups in Memento black ink and coloured with Copic markers. These were applied as shown, one on foam pads. I stamped a number of coffee beans, again coloured with Copics and with some added Glitter glue. These were arranged at the bottom left of the die-cut frame.

I die-cut and arrow in black card and applied pointing to the central coffee cup.

The sentimant was stamped onto white card in Versafine black ink. This was matted on black and trimmed and applied on foam pads. Three black sequins were added to finish the card.

Gerberas......

Made a Gerbera Birthday Card ....

I used a white 5 x 7 card blank. I then stamped the Gerbera three times in Versamark on black card and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The images were trimmed out and coloured with Twinkling H2O's in gold, blue & purple.... these add a subtle mica sheen on the black card.

I then die-cut a frame in more black card. The frame was hand doodled with a white Posca pen and applied as shown on foam pads. The three Gerberas were then applied on more foam pads.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment was stamped at the base of the card in Versafine black ink. Three purple sequins were added with Glossy Accents.
