Seriously Awesome

I have a bit of time to spare today so I have made a seriously awesome card.  I have used a piece of Kraft card as the base along with a selection of papers from simplestories 'Awesome' paper pad.

I have trimmed out various images and strips to produce the collage.

Some TH Tissue tape has been used on the background and stamps used were from 7Gypsies (numbers) and Tim Holtz (3 men in top hats).  They were stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink and attached on foam pads.

Edging was done with walnut stain Distress Ink and a couple of square copper brads were added on the word plate which was then attached on more foam pads.

Finishing touches were add a little Stickles glitter glue on the stars and to matt onto dark copper glitter paper.

Day of the Dead

How macabre?  This is a little card I cut with my Cricut using the Autumn Celebration cartridge.

Very easily made with the addition of glitter in his one eye and Sakura glaze and souffle pens to highlight.

'J' is for Jewel Tag

This is the 'J' for Jewel tag I have done as part of a challenge on UK Stampers. The tag was cut from plain cream card. A Paperartsy crown stamp was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with gold Embossing Powder. A swirl stamp was inked with Adirondack Ink in denim and latte and stamped as shown.

I wanted to have a cascade from the single flat backed gem that I added to one of the points in the crown flowing to the tails of the swirl which were embellished with more gems. Chalk inks were used for the background, direct to paper. The letters and words were cut from a magazine and the letter J is chipboard with blue glitter.

The tag was finished with a black eyelet and some blue organza ribbon tied through the hole.

Hope you like it :-)

Handmade Beads

Here are 4 of the beads I made yesterday whilst having a craft day at my dear friend Lynnette's house. Boy did we make some fab stuff !! We used the Ranger Melt Pot for all our crafting during the day and had a whale of a time.

The beads are made using the technique perfected by Leandra Franich (the owner of Paper Artsy in the U.K.) which uses a paper wrapped bead centre on a head pin which is multiple dipped into molten Clear UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel). Inclusions are then trapped between the succesive coats of UTEE. Rather than go over the instructions here again click HERE to see them on her blog.

I used copper coloured head pins this time and various inclusions to add extra zing to the beads.

The bead above has its centre made with stripey paper and has gold flake inclusions.

This bead centre has a small all over flower stamped on a pale pink background with Versafine onyx black. This time some fine blue craftwire was wrapped round during dipping.

This last bead was made with a centre of red glitter paper and the craftwire this time was red also.
Hope you like them :-)
