A Butterfly card .....
I started with a square white card blank and cut a smaller matt which was treated with white gesso applied through a butterfly stencil to act as a resist. Once dry i made washes from Distress Oxide inks in iced spruce and worn lipstick and smooshed the gessoed matt through the colours, removing some with a tissue and drying between coats. I then spattered with gold acrylic ink and stamped some sewn lines in Versafine black ink. I stamped a cross and numbers in the same Distress ink colours.
The butterfly(AAll & Create) was stamped in charming pink Versafine Clair ink and trimmed out. It was then coloured with washes of the same Distress Oxide colours. The nib body was coloured with more gold acrylic ink. I then positioned the butterfly where I wanted it and drew round it with a grey Inktense pencil and drew out the colour with a waterbrush to form a shadow on the background. The butterfly was then applied on foam pads over the shadow.
The butterfly word (AAll & Create) was stamped out in Versafine black, trimmed out and matted on green card before applying to the background and edged with a shadow as before.
The card was finished by matting the background on pink and green card and adhering to the card blank.
