A Clean & Simple card ......

The card is on a white 6 x 6 inch card base. I die-cut a smaller stitched edge square from white crad and die-cut a star into this.

I selected a piece of night sky printed vellum and applied to the card front. The die-cut square with star aperture was added on foam pads over the star.

I then die-cut a series of stitched edge squares and arranged as shown, some on foam pads.

The sentiment (Stampin'Up) was stamped in black Versafine ink and die-cut before adding on more foam pads to finish the card .......

Celebrate......

 A celebration card .....

I chose a piece of spotty background paper and stamped this with the flower stamp in Versafine black ink which was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder which gives a mirror gloss finish. This was trimmed and matted onto some script paper to leave a border. The bold solid form of the flower stamp makes a bold impression.

The panel was applied to a 6 x 6 inch white card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine black ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, die-cut and applied as shown on foam pads after edging in black ink.

This card would be great for a man too ......

Smile .......

Made a Clean & Simple card .....

The base is an A6 white card blank. I then cut a smaller matt from white card and die-cut a stitched oval in the centre of the matt.

I then watercoloured a tree on some watercolour card and set this onto the card front. The die-cut matt was then applied to the card front on foam pads to spotlight the watercolour through the aperture.

I then die-cut some leaves from white card and applied these as shown through the oval. I also die-cut a semi-circle and applied on the matt.

The sentiment was stamped in black Versafine ink, die-cut and applied on foam pads.

Finishing touch was to apply 3 pale green adhesive pearls .......

Notecards ......

These notecards were made from stamps by Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz and are a series of four .....

The first one is stamped in Eggplant Adirondak Dye Ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and resist coloured with yellow Ecoline Brushpen.

The second one is stamped with Bottle Adirondak Dye Ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and resist coloured with Magenta Ecoline Brushpen.

The third one is stamped in Caramel Adirondak Dye Ink,  heat embossed with clear embossing powder and resist coloured with light green Ecoline Brushpen.

The fourth and last was stamped in Red Pepper Adirondak Die Ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and resist coloured with dark blue Ecoline Brushpen.

The sentiments were stamped in Versafine black ink, matted onto black card and added on foam pads.

All were trimmed, matted on black card and adhered to Brown Kraft 5 x 5 inch cardblanks ..... loving the colours and as I said before slightly 'Andy Warhol' or 'Banksy' and the rose one looks like an Ornamental Cabbage in that colourway too ......

LIM Challenge #484 .......

Hi there ! We are here again with another fab fortnightly Challenge here at 'Less Is More' blog ....

This time you are asked to make a one layer card (see blog for details) in the theme of 'Flowers'.

This is my Design Team card for the Challenge:

The base is a 6 x 6 ins white card blank. I then stamped a rose flower garland (Mama Makes) in black Versafine directly on the card front and coloured this with 4 colours of Acrylograph chalk markers.

The sentiment (Mama Makes) was then stamped in more Versafine black ink inside the garland to finish the card.

CAS on Friday #258 ......

Well it's that time for a brand new Challenge over at 'CAS on Friday' .....

This time you are invited to make a Clean & Simple card using:

  

'Embossing'

So your card could contain dry or heat embossing or both. This is my Design Team card:

The card base is a 5 x 7 inch white card base which I scored with 5 lines horizontally and 5 lines vertically at 1/8inch spaces on a scoreboard.

The three architectural tiles (Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz) were stamped in Versafine black ink on a watercolour card background made with Brusho crystal colours. They were then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to add definition and shine to the designs. They were then matted onto black card and applied over the vertical scorelines as shown.

The sentiment (Stampin'Up) was stamped in black Versafine ink and then die-cut. It was added as shown on foam pads to finish the card ........

Smile .....

A Clean & Simple card made today ......

The base is a 5 x 5 inch brown Kraft card......

I cut a smaller matt from white card and die-cut a stitched square from the centre. I then scored a border on the score board. This was then applied to the card front to leave a border on foam pads with the aperture over the Kraft below.

The white and brown Kraft foliage and flowers were die-cut and arranged as shown over the aperture. A couple of hearts were di-cut from red card and applied over the stems as shown.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine black ink and then die-cut before applying on foam pads to finish the card ......

I think simple, uncluttered but effective......

Note ......

I used the same stamp (Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz) as in my previous post to make this note card .....

The base is a 5 x 5 ins brown Kraft card blank....

This time I stamped the Daisy on white card with an Adirondack dye ink in Wild Plum, this was heat embossed with clear embossing powder whilst still wet. I then used a yellow Ecoline Brushpen and coloured the petals along with orange in the centre. The embossed colour resists the added colour because it is sealed by the heat embossing .......

The image was trimmed, matted on black card and added to the card front.

The sentiment (Uniko) was stamped in black Versafine ink and again heat embossed before trimming, matting on black and adding on foam pads to finish the card ......

Think it's a bit 'Andy Warhol' ........ and what a difference can be achieved by adding different colours !

Thoughts ......

Made a Happy Thoughts card  .....

The card is on a 6 x 6 inch white card base ...... I used pre-made tiles using a Brusho background, stamping & heat embossing using Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz stamps. The tiles were adhered to a piece of background paper from Crafty Individuals and trimmed. This background was then matted onto a piece of turquoise card.

The central plate was stamped (Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz) in Versafine black on a white card and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was trimmed to leave a border. The flower was coloured with Ecoline brushpens and the plate was edged in Krylon Gold pen.

This image was then added to the background on foam pads and a sentiment stamped and added on more foam pads to finish ......

Loving these new stamps ......

Citrus .....

A card made for a 'Lime, Lemon & Orange' colour Challenge over on UK Stampers Forum ......

The card started with a 6 x 6 inch white card base ......

I chose a 'Cocktail' stamp and stamped with Versafine black ink on white card which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was coloured with Copic markers and I used Glossy Accents to highlight the pineapple, cherry and reflections.

The coloured image was matted onto lime, orange, yellow & black cards highlighted with an orange Copic and added to the card front on foam pads to finish .....

Who doesn't like a fruity cocktail ? I certainly do .......

White ......

Love white-on-white so here is a thanks card .......

I used a white cardbase and die-cut the widow frame from more white card. It was added on foam pads and I then scored the left tall cut-out and replaced it onto the card front through the aperture.

I then die-cut a number of delicate leaves from more white card and added these in the three smaller apertures as shown.

The sentiment was stamped in black Versafine ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and die-cut. This was added on foam pads as shown.

Finishing touch was to add three self-adhesive pearls ......

Happy ......

A card made on a 6 x 4 white card base ......

The background was made by cutting a piece of white card and colouring with Distress Oxide washes in wilted violet, mustard seed & lucky clover.

This was then stamped a few times with a fleur-de-lys stamp (Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz - Creative Blocks) in Sepia Archival Ink. This background was then matted on brown Kraft card and applied to the card base.

Another background was made on watercolour card with Brusho watercolours and when dry this was stamped with Versafine black using some more of the same stamps. This was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They were trimmed out and matted on more brown Kraft card before applying centrally on foam pads to the background.

The sentiment was stamped in black Versafine ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimmed out, edged with black ink and applied as shown to finish the card ......

This Clean & Simple card was made on a 6 x 6 inch white card base .....

I coloured a 3 x 3 inch piece of white card with Distress Oxide inks, smooshed  with water. Once dry I stamped the flowers and leaves (Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz - Floral Trims) in Archival black ink. I then used a waterbrush and Distress Ink washes to colour the leaves and flowers.

The flower plate was edged in black ink and matted onto black and then silver mirri card and added centrally onto the card base.

The sentiment was stamped in grey Archival ink, die-cut and applied as shown to finish ......

Brave ......

A vintage Tag made for a swap over on the UK Stampers Forum ......

The base was cut from re-cycled food packaging and this was covered with some printed paper from Tim Holtz featuring vintage photos. I edged with Walnut Stain Distress ink applied with a blending brush. I then stamped around the left an bottom with a gauze stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossed this with gold embossing powder.

I added a couple of Aall & Create die-cut cogs in black.

I chose a 'Paper Doll' of a lad and his dog and coloured this with alcohol ink markers, curved it and added with hot melt from a glue gun to add dimension. I drew some lines and dots with a brown Acrylograph chalk pen.

I then added an eyelet with the Crop-a-Dile and threaded through with some hession ribbon held in place with a staple ....

Spirit .......

Made a set of 3 Artist Trading Cards for a swap over on the IndigoBlu Facebook Group in a colour theme of 'Orange, Blue & Green' .....

I used stamps from IndigoBlu throughout. I first made a transluscent watercolour background on watercolour card using IndigoBlu paints and a lot of water. I let this dry naturally before trimming out the three backgrounds to 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I then stamped a background image in orange Versafine Clair ink at the top and added a drip stamp in Versafine black ink. The surfaces were treated to some gold ink and white Gesso. I then added a thin strip of orange Washi tape at the base. The backgrounds were then applied to bases cut from re-cycled food packaging.

The ATC's were edged with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The bottles were stamped in Versafine black ink on white card and again heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They were then trimmed out and coloured with Distress ink washes and more gold ink. They were shaped and applied and grounded onto the Washi tape with hot glue.

I then added a gold star brad (with its legs cut off) on more hot glue. The word 'Spirit' was added also and edged with black Micron pen.

Finishing touch was to add some shadows under the bottles with black Inktense pen spread with a waterbrush .......

Luck ......

The card started as a 6 x 6 inch white card blank .....

I then stamped the flowers (Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Floral Trims) twice in Versafine black ink on more white card, heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I then trimmed a suitable section to 4 x 4 inches square. This was matted on black card to form a border and the black & white panel was mounted centrally on the card front.

I then coloured one of the flowers and a couple of leaves with Distress Ink washes using a waterbrush, trimmed out, edged with black ink and applied over the originals on foam pads. A few bits of gold were added to the stamens with a gold pen along with 3 clear glass cabochons ....

The word (Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Note Quotes) was stamped in yellow Distress Ink on white card, heat set, matted on black card and trimmed. It was added as shown to finish .....

Steam .......

The Challenge over at Country View Crafts this month is 'Vehicles' .......

I used stamps from IndigoBlu to make this Steam Locomotive card. The base is a 5 x 7 ins white card.

I started by stamping the locomotive on white card in Versafine black ink and this was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I added some panels with a chrome Tombow pen. This image was trimmed and matted onto black and then silver mirri cards. I then applied this to a deep embossed brick background on brown Kraft.

I then applied a cream/brown wood effect background to the card base and layered the locomotive and matts onto this as shown.

The words were then stamped on white card in Versafine black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. this was trimmed and matted on black card. This was then added on foam pads as shown.

Finishing touches were to add some metallic silver cabochons .....

Tiles ......

A Clean & Simple card ....

Made a white card base to 5 x 5 inches square from 300gsm card......

I next chose 4 of the Tiles (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) and stamped them in black Versafine ink which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They were die-cut to leave a small white border.

The tiles were then coloured with Inktense pencils and a waterbrush, adding some highlights with stronger colours and then adding some gold acrylic ink with a fine brush. Each of the tiles were then matted on black card to leave a fine black border.

The tiles were then added directly as shown to the card front. The words were stamped in Versafine black on white card, trimmed and added as shown to finish the card .....

LIM Challenge #483 .......

It's time again for another fab CAS Challenge over on the 'Less Is More' blog ..... this time you are invited to make a clean and simple card in the theme of:

Make sure you follow the rules on the blog. This is my Design Team card for the Challenge:

I made a 5 x 5 inch white card as the base. I then die-cut a 4 x 4 inch stitched edge square from more white card.

Onto this I stamped two leaf fronds in green Versafine Clair ink and coloured the leaves with a green Distress Ink wash applied with a waterbrush.

I the selected some floral Washi tape from AAll & Create, applied to white card and then I cut out the 5 flowers and applied over the leaf fronds as shown.

The springing rabbit was (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) was die cut from black card and then applied as shown on foam pads. The word was stamped in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was trimmed and matted on black card to form a thin border and was attached as shown.

The card was finished by attaching the decorated panel directly to the card front ......

CAS on Friday #257 ......

Hi there, CAS on Friday Fans ...... another challenge is now live on the blog ...

This time you are asked to make a CAS card in the theme of  'STRIPES' , following our rules of course ....

This is my Design Team for the challenge:

I used a 6 x 6 inch white card base........

I then cut a smaller square from white card and added stripes of Washi tape as shown.

Once complete I die-cut the word 'HELLO' using some Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies. I then matted the square on black card show the black shows through the letters.

The finished panel was then applied centrally on the card base on foam pads ........

Regal ......

A set of Artist Trading Cards made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum in the theme of 'Crowning Glory' ......

The bases were cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I then chose some background paper and stamped multiple times with a crown stamp in Versamark ink which was then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I added some black adhesive gems and white posca pen dots and stripes and the ATC's were edged in pesto Versamagic chalk ink.

The adhesive letters were attached to white card, trimmed and applied as shown to finish the ATC's ....

Kraft ......

A set of three Artist Trading Coins  made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

The bases were die-cut to 2.5 inches in diameter from re-cycled food packaging. They were covered with floral printed paper and stamped with a leaf stamp in sepia and pink inks along with another stamp in black Versafine ink. Some torn strips of floral Washi tape were added for interest.

I then added some white Posca pen lines and dots of dimensional mica paint in pale green and plum.

I die-cut some flowers from brown Kraft card and added these as shown, each was centred with a pale blue dew-drop.

The Coins were then edged in dark brown Versamagic chalk ink to finish .....

Heart .......

Made a hearty rabbit Clean And Simple card ......

The base is a 6 x 6 inch white card blank and I have die-cut a stitched-edge 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card matt which was added to the card front.

The rabbit, heart and crosses (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) were die-cut from white, pearlescent pink, red and black cards and assembled as shown onto the matt. I added some pink Impress ink with a cotton wool bud to highlight the rabbit.

I next cut another stitched-edge square from white card and stamped the sentiment (Woodware) in Versafine black Ink which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was added on foam pads as shown.

The card was then finished with three pink Nuvo glitter drops......

Pink ......

A set of Twinchies (2 x 2 inch decorated squares) made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ......

The theme for this swap was 'Pink & White' so I wanted to do some stamping and embossing and I made a foam stamp by die-cutting a stylised rose from fun foam. I then attached this to a piece of strong card with PVA glue to make a stamp.

I then stamped this with Versamark ink on some pearlescent pink card multiple times and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then trimmed out the four Twinchies from this background. This was then applied to a base of re-cycled food packaging.

I used a dark pink Sharpie to colour areas of the design as shown. Each Twinchies was edged in pink glitter gel. The word were printed on pink with a labeller machine, trimmed out and matted on black before adding to the centre of each Twinchie. I added two pink adhesive gems to finish each Twinchie .....

Poppy .....

A Clean And Simple card ......

The base is a 6 x 6 ins white card blank. I made a watercolour background with paints and watercolour card and this was trimmed to 3 ins square and edged with black ink. I then stamped a sewn circle in black Versafine ink and matted this onto a die-cut stitched square made from cream hammered card. and this was edged with more black ink.

I next die-cut a couple of poppies, one in red and one in yellow these were applied on foam pads to the watercolour square. I also die-cut a poppy bud from dark green card and applied as shown.

The finished square was applied to the card front. The word was stamped in black ink, trimmed and matted on black card and applied to the front along with a couple of pink glitter drops to finish the card ......

A card featuring a stamp & background paper from Crafty Individuals ........

The base is a 6 x 6 inch white card .... I then stamped the Roman head stamp in black Versafine ink and heat embossed this with clear embossing powder. It was then coloured with mica ink swiped across the image in purple and red ..... it has a gold sheen but not photograped well. This was matted onto gold glitter card and then onto a inked background before finally matting onto printed background paper. Each matt was edged in black ink.

The panel was the applied to the card base.

The printed sentiment was matted onto black card and applied on foam pads as shown to finish the card ......

Here .......

Another white-on-White card suitable for a bereavement ....... cards that we never really want to make ......

I started with a 5 x 7 inch white card blank and die-cut another piece of white card with a double stitched edge to fit an embossing folder. Thus was passed through the Big Shot. This was to form the decorated layer.

I then chose a flower die and die-cut it 4 times to produce the flowers which were layered over the embossed ones and centred with a pearl cabochon.

The label was die-cut from more white card and the words stamped in grey Versafine Clair ink on white card which was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They were trimmed and added to the label.

The main design and the label were then added to the card front on foam pads to finish .....

Sparkle ......

Made a card for a friend ....

I started with a 6 x 6 inch white card blank......

I then made a panel from watercolour card which I coloured with watercolours in a wet environment in magenta, blue & yellow. It was trimmed and then decorated with a stencil and Distress inks before spattering with white Posca pen. The panel was then matted onto black card to add a thin frame.

I then stamped the butterfly on white card with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was then die-cut. I used Distress Ink washes to colour it,

The printed words were matted on black card.

The panel was added centrally to the card front and the butterfly added along with the sentiment to finish the card ......

Fabulous ......

A collaged Artist Trading Card .... made to trade !

The base is cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches from re-cycled food packaging. The base is made from Distress Oxides and a water spray. Some pink diamonds were stamped onto the background with Distress Oxide ink along with a strip of Washi tape and an acetate flower square. The exclamation mark is cut from pink card and the butterfly is wooden and embellished with pink adhesive gems.

I used a pink & white Posca pens to edge the ATC and acetate and the word is made from Washi tape. If you would like to trade this card please email me on sidscards9@gmail.com .....

Fly ......

Made a Clean and Simple Card .......

I measure, cut and scored a white card blank to 5 x 5 inches. I then made a brayered background with acrylic paints in pink and cream. This was cut to 2.5 x 2.5 inches and edged with black ink before matting on black card to form a thin border.

I next chose some cream hammered card and cut a die-cut a stitched-edge square and a stitched edge surround.

The balloon and words (Crafty Individuals) were stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with with clear embossing powder. They were trimmed out and the words were matted on black card. I coloured the balloon with barn door Distress ink and pink Acrylograph pen,

The pink/cream square was mounted centrally on the cream square and the balloon and words were added on foam pads. This was applied centrally to the card blank. The frame was then added on more foam pads.

I finished the card with three black sequins as shown .....

A collaged card to share with you .....

The base is a white 4 x 6 inch card blank .....

I have collaged various elements, some with Distress ink and stamping, printed papers, printed snippits, Washi tape and die-cuts.

The butterfly was stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was coloured with mica inks and pink Acrylograph pen. Then trimmed out and added as shown. Some dots of Nuvo metallic drops were added on the body.

The words were stamped on white card in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimmed out and added on foam pads.

The background was then added to the card front to finish ......
