Floral.....

A set of Artist Trading Coins made for a swap over in UK Stampers Forum .....

I used laser-cut MDF bases for these. I made a printed base layer with a muted pastel design then die-cut the circles to match the bases.

I then used a set of very old small stamps and Memento inks to stamp the design directly  onto the paper circles as shown. I added 3 small adhesive pearls. Stuck the bases on and edged the Coins with Krylon gold pen to finish .....

Leaf .....

Some while back I tried decorating a round teabag with acrylic paints, stamping (Uniko) in Archival Ink and stencilling.

I decided to convert it into an Artist Trading Coin (2.5 inches in diameter) by applying it to an MDF base and adding some decoration with Posca pens, glossy accents and sequins. The Coin is edged with gold Krylon pen. I have also used shimmering gel pens to cover some areas of the stamping.

I have entered this into the Craft Stamper Magazine 'Take It Make It' Challenge for April whose theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Liked the way it turned out and will certainly try to do more this way in future.

Time for Tea ....

As you know I have a penchant for 'Alice in Wonderland' so I made three MDF Artist Trading Coins ....

A member of UK Stampers Forum (Jannet Blay) sent me a little crafty gift wrapped in AIW tissue paper ... I knew I couldn't throw it away as it was fab so I have used it in making the backgrounds for these coins.  I first painted the coin fronts with white acrylic paint then cut the tissue and applied with gloss medium and a brush being careful not to crease the images.

Once completely dry I decorated the edges with Posca markers and edged the coins with black alcohol ink marker.  The words were stamped in Versafine black ink on white card and adhered on foam pads after trimming out. A few small adhesive crystals were added to decorate and finish the coins.

These are made for trading & thanks to Jannet for the iinspiration .....

Valentine .....

Made a set of 3 Artist Trading Coins on lasercut MDF bases for Valentines Day ....

The bases were painted with matt acrylic paints and stamped with hearts in Versafine black ink before being coloured with posca Markers with a few clear acrylic circles in violet.  The 'Big hugs' was stamped on coloured card in Archival black ink, trimmed out and applied on foam pads.  The Coins were edged in Krylon gold.

Retro Florals .....

Made a set of Retro Artist Trading Coins (for swapping) on MDF laser-cut bases ....

The based were edged in gold Krylon pen and three circles of green light card were di-cut to 2.5 inches diameter as the base.  I then applied white gesso with a bubble-wrap square. and stamped a leafy vine in Archival black ink.  The centres of the spots were coloured with coloured Posca pen with some white accents added on the vine.  The circles were added to the MDF bases at this stage.

The florals and leaves were stamped in Memento black ink and coloured with Copic markers before trimming out and glazing with a gloss acrylic.

They were stuck in place with the florals added on foam pads.  Some circles of silver and gold glitter card were punched and added as shown and the words printed, trimmed and applied also.

Each coin was then edged with wavy overlapping lines made with a fine Micron pen.
