'Colours' CJ entry

Sign-in Tag

So another month has passed and this months CJ in the 'Colours' theme was Hannahbanana's Pink CJ. Her enclosed rubber stamps were sign language stamps spelling out ART and we were asked to complete two adjacent pages and a tag.

I decided to spell out TART instead............no not THAT sort of tart, the fruity edible kind ! I finally decided on a Cherry Tart as my theme.

I used:
  • Printed background paper (green & pink stripe)
  • Card (Pale green, Dark Green & Pink)
  • Stickles Glitter Glue (Fruit Punch)
  • Rub-ons (Alpha Making Memories)
  • Stamps (Hampton Arts - Cherry Background & Cherries)
  • Marvey LePlume II pens (Red 2 & Pine Green 72)
  • Water Brush
  • Chalk Ink (Pink)
  • Versafine Ink Pad (Onyx black)

For Left side:

I took the striped background paper and trimmed to slightly less than 4 inches square (to allow for a border when adhered to the supplied background card). I trimmed another piece of the paper to apply horizontally across the page as a separator. The Pink card was trimmed and then stamped with the HA Cherries stamp which was selectively coloured with the Marvey le Plume pens. This was 'huffed' upon to keep moist and stamped three times on the pink card. The waterbrush was used to shade the cherries and leaves. The word 'CHERRY' was was applied using the rub-ons as shown at the top half of the paper. The stamped pink card was adhered to the lover half and the horizontal piece applied and finished with dots of the Stickles fruit punch gitter glue. The printed paper was then applied to the card after edging with the Chalk Ink.

For Right side:

Another piece of the striped background paper was trimmed as the base. The supplied sign language stamps were stamped using Versafine onyx black ink to spell the word 'TART'. These were trimmed and matted onto the dark green card. The HA Cherry Background stamp was selectively coloured with the Marvey pens and stamped randomly 4 times. This stamped card was then torn as two corners and these were edged with the green Marvey pen and adhered as shown. The word 'TART' was applied with adhesive as shown and the hands coloured with the Stickles fruit punch again. The piece was again edged with pink Chalk Ink and applied to the backing card to finish.

For Sign-in tag:

This was just hand completed and stamped with the HA Cherries stamp to complete.

Hope she likes it (there have been some super entries to date too) :-)

'Colours' CJ Entry

Here is my entry into Efemera's 'Grey' CJ as part of the UK Stampers Forum second CJ. Her CJ consists of tags held together by a single metal ring fastener. Her specific rubber stamp, to be used on each persons entry, is a pair of rather pointy boots (I assume from a Knight's suit of armour).

God, did I mull over what I was going to do on this one but finally had an image of a 'Buy One Get One Free' sale offer. Well they are not exactly elegant , are they? Maybe a Knight may think so though! Possibly the height of fashion for him !

Anyway here's how I made it:

Materials:

  • Printed background paper (Papermania - fine spots & architecture))
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Detail Silver Embossing Powder
  • Matt Silver metallic card
  • Grey card
  • Magnetic Alphas (Making Memories)
  • Stazon Ink Pad (Jet Black)
  • Pointy Boots rubber stamp
  • Flourish Rubber Stamp (Ilusive Images)
  • Brilliance Ink Pad (Moonlight White)
  • Foam Pads
  • PVA Glue
  • Glossy accents

The plain card tag was first covered with the architecture printed background paper using PVA glue applied with a brush. This was randomly stamped towards the edges with the flourish stamp using moonlight white Brilliance ink and this was heat set with a heat gun.

Next, the pointy boots stamp was stamped twice on the matt silver card in Versamark Ink and this was heat embossed with detail silver Embossing Powder. When cool the stamped and embossed images were carefully cut out and these were matted on the fine spots backing paper and again cut out with a 1/8th inch border.

Next the words were stamped with the magnetic alphas in black Stazon ink on the grey card and this was trimmed. The trimmed stamped words were matted on more of the matt silver card and again trimmed allowing a small border. They were edged with black stazon before applying with Glossy Accents as shown. Finally the adhesive foam pads were applied to the back of the cut-out boots and they were applied as shown.

It is now on its way to Hazel who is the next in posting line. Hope you don't have as much trouble deciding what to do as I did. That's it folks.

Hope you like it :-)

'Colours' CJ Entry

As usual I am a little late with uploading this but it is my entry into Diane R's 'Purple' theme CJ as part of a Colours UK Stampers Forum Swap.

I really enjoyed doing it though and took a bit of artistic license and added some mustard to the colourway. I must admit I was a bit stumped as to how to incorporate the image from her rubber stamp choice. I decided after a lot of pondering that I would do almost a daisy-chain of the same image stamped six times and calling my entry 'Purple People'.

Materials:

  • Printed 12 x 12 scrapbook Paper
  • Cherry Pie flourish stamp
  • C Dee's kids alpha stamp (lower case)
  • Versafine black onyx inkpad
  • Stazon imperial purple inkpad
  • Brilliance pearlescent lilac inkpad
  • Colorbox chalk Ink wisteria inkpad
  • Sakura Gelly-Roll Tiara pen - purple
  • Glue Stick
  • Purple satin ribbon (for tag)
  • Chipboard Letters (spelling PURPLE)

The pages were covered in double sided 12 x 12 printed scrapbook paper. This particular one had purple and mustard paisley-type design on one side and a mustard slub effect on the reverse. I half covered each page with both front and back and adhered with glue stick. I stamped the Cherry pie flourish stamp randomly over the mustard slub with black onyz Versafine ink before adhering this.
I used chipboard letters and inked them to look distressed with purple inks. These were applied with glossy accents.

I then stamped the image six times in imperial purple Stazon onto mauve cardstock. Each image was cut out and embellished with Gelly Roll tiara purple pen before adhering with glue stick.

The alphas (from CDee's- Kids lower case), were stamped in Brilliance pearlescent lilac to spell 'people' onto white card and these were cut out and applied as seen with glue stick. The page edges were inked with Wisteria Colorbox chalk ink.

The sign-in tag was embellished with a small piece of purple satin ribbon.

Do Hope she likes it !
