Altered ......

We are running a Challenge on UK Stampers Forum until 5th April ..... we are to make an altered Fish/Mint Tin for the chance of winning some fab stamps from 'That's Crafty' ....

I used an empty sardine can which was washed thoroughly, dried and coated with a couple of coats of white gesso to prepare.

I used a set of Papertrey Ink stamps featuring a theme of 'Buttons' and stamped the button card, words and buttons in Versafine black and Versafine Clair colours. I trimmed out all elements and drew in threads on the buttons, applying Glossy Accents to a couple of the buttons.

The button card was embellished with buttons stuck in place with more Glossy Accents.

I lined the inside edge of the tin with Washi tape and cut a panel to fit the inside base from pink spotty paper.... sticking this in place. The outside of the tin was covered in two pieces of Washi tape and the rim coloured with Gold Krylon pen.

The tin was then decorated with the button card on foam pads, a mini pink satin ribbon, some card-candi, the front word panel (with the addition of pink Posca pen) and a number of the stamped buttons. The inside lip of the tin was decorated with more dots of pink Posc pen and fruit punch Stickles Glitter glue.

I used a set of stamps and dies from Sizzix and stamped the girl and tag in Memento black ink, the flowers with a variety of colours of Versafine Clare Inks. All were die-cut. I coloured the girl with Copic markers and added yellow self adhesive pearls to the centres of some of the flowers.

All elements were applied to the stitched panel as shown (some on foam pads) . Some Posca white pen was added ....... this was attached to the card blank to finish the card .....

Free .....

Made a tag for a swap on UK Stampers Forum after being inspired by Kate Crane ......

The base is a manilla tag and I have dyed the string with Distress ink (Worn Lipstick).

The collaged background is made from Gelli prints using alcohol inks and Distress Oxides trimmed and applied to provide a ground for the bird..... a little stamping in pink Archival ink adds a contrast colour. All edged were edged with pale green Versamagic chalk ink.

The bird (JOFY) was stamped on white card and coloured with Distress Inks made into watercolours and trimmed. It was applied on foam pads to add relief.

The words (Crafty Individuals) are backed with a snippet of background and applied on more foam pads to finish .....
