I run a Private Facebook Group called
UK Stampers Forum and we are running a number of Swaps each month, one of which is a Postcard Swap where the postcard is sent 'naked' through the post to its recipient. If you would like to join us and join some of our swaps click the link above. We wouls love to have you onboard !
This month we are to make a postcard in the theme ' Floral Heaven' and this is my entry !
I started with a piece of heavy white card cut to 6 x 4 inches and produced a background using Distress Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio & Faded Jeans ! I then added some splashes of Wilted Violet added with a paintbrush.
Once totally dry I used an embossing folder and embossed the card. I then used more distress inks as paints and coloured the embossed design with a waterbrush. The flower centres were highlighted with silver. I stamped some butterflies in Sepia Archival Ink and the word 'Bloom' in Versafine black ink. I then layered the postcard on more white card and it was then edged with dark blue Versamagic chalk ink and the whole thing given a seal with spray matte acrylic sealer to protect.
This also meets the Challenge this week over on the
City Crafter Challenge Blog whose subject is 'You can do it - make a background'
