Mums Card & Box

Happy Mothers Day to you all and especially to my own Mum !!

This is my Mum's card & gift for this Mothers Day.  The card was made using some digi papers cut into equal sized blocks and mounted as shown.

The two layered plates were made using a Sizzix die, one on blue card and one on white.  Both were applied on foam pads to raise them.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival black ink. Finishing touch was to add a paper flower on a sticky dot.

The box was made using another large matchbox Sizzix die.  This was cut out, assembled and covered in panels of similar papers.  The bow was added to finish.

Hope she likes it ........... guess what's in the box !

Somebirdie Loves Me !

These ATC's were made as part of a swap over on UK Stampers Forum and the theme for this month is 'Owls'.

These quirky little owlies were made on a digi background paper which was stamped with the owl stamp from Hero Arts in Archival black as a template.

Patterned paper was then chosen in four colourways and was again stamped, but this time cut out and paper pieced to provide the coloured elements.

A Pigma micron pen was used to draw in the feathers on the wings and the ATC squiggly borders. A white Posca pen was used on the owls bibs and a silver pen on the beaks.

Finally the sentiment was stamped in more archival black ink using a rubber stamp and the edges coloured with spiced marmalade Distress Ink..

A Smiley Pear

Here is a little card I made using some digi papers from Cosmo Cricket, some diecuts and a bit of stamping and spraying.

The background was printed, trimmed and stuck in place.  I used dies to cut the two oval mats. One in Brown and one with a pear design.  These were layered directly onto the card.

The pear stamp (A Stamp In The Hand) was stamped in Archival sepia ink and trimmed out, then coloured with a lime green alcohol ink pen.  This was mounted on foam pads.  The flower was made from printed cardstock which was die-cut using my Cricut and once assembled was sprayed with Green Dylusions spray.  This was stuck in place at the top of the card.

The mini tag was diecut and stamped with Papertrey Inc stamps and dies.  This was also mounted on foam pads after applying a brad. before colouring with the lime green alcohol ink pen.

The two flourishes were also die cut with a Sizzix die and stuck in place as shown.  Because of the dimension of the flower the card will be packed into a box.  I have entered this into the Simon Says Challenge too !

Fit for a Queen

Here are three ATC's which I have made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  The theme this month is 'Royalty' so I chose two stamps from Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi and a flourish by PaperArtsy.

The backgrounds are digital papers and I have stamped the flourish in yellow and red Memento dye inks.  This has been accented with a gold Posca pen.

The words and crowned lady have been stamped in Memento Jet Black and a little colour added direct to paper with more Memento dye ink.

The letters at the bottom are trimmed papers and the ATC's are edged in crimson chalk ink.

Pretty Face

Here is a card I have made recently incorporating the colours of turquoise and orange.  The card measure 15 x 15cm and is made from stout white card.  The card has been covered on the front with a piece of digital backing paper with an abstract orange/blue colourway.  It is available in my Etsy store.

The mat has been made from turquoise linen effect card and has been punched with Martha Stewart around the page punches.  A piece of narrow orange grosgrain ribbon has then been threaded through the edging and tied in a bow at one corner before mounting onto the card.

The girls face has been stamped with Memento black ink, cut out with a circular die and then coloured with alcohol ink brush markers.  The orange dots have been added using a Sakura Aqualip pen.  The image has been added in the centre with foam pads to add relief.

The 'On Your Birthday' foiled plate was also added on foam pads.

Finishing touches were added by edging with orange chalk ink.

Easter Eggy?

Whilst away recently for a weekend retreat one of our group, Hannah gave me a little gift of some digi images and papers with a challenge to make a card there and then........ so I did, and this is it.

The only stamping on this one is the sentiment !

I started by cutting out the egg and adding some Glossy Accents on the flowers, I put this aside to dry.  I used Nestability dies to cut three mats - one from stripey patterned paper, one from white card and one from kraft card.  These were attached to a blank textured white card with the paper being mounted on 1mm foam pads.  The egg was added last.

A piece of matching ribbon was attached with double sided adhesive and a paper ribbon bow from the gift added at the left.

The Easter sentiment (Papertrey) was stamped in Archival black ink on white card, trimmed out, edged with burnt sienna chalk ink and mounted on foam pads.

Have enough to do a few more in time for Easter too !

Tims Tag No.2

Yes I know my tags are out of sync. !  But this one is my effort for tag number 2.  The base is a white card cut to size and stamped with a music stamp in Archival Black.  This was toned down with picket fence Distress stain and dried.  I then stamped the word Peace down the right hand side of the tag with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The words were swiped with vintage photo Distress ink and this was rubbed over with a cloth to remove the ink from the embossing.

Next I stamped a fir tree in pine needles Distress ink and used some barn door and a circle stamp to add some berries.  This was over coloured with more pine needled on cut'n'dry foam.

The reindeer is a digi image, printed on the printer, cut out and edged with gold Posca pen.  The garland round the reindeers neck is made from diecut foliage and a faux gem.  He was stuck in place as shown.  The base trim was cut using a Sizzix on the edge die and was attached with 4 pewter brads and edged with some frosted ice Stickles.

A pewter eyelet was added with the crop'a'dile and a small piece of woven braid tied through.  A little bow and two silver balls were then attached with a star brad as shown.  The whole tag was then edged in more vintage photo ink.

Welcome Home

Tag Time !!  I am thinking Halloween again, thinking Welcome Home......not.........

I used digi Art from ARTchix studio in the main with a little swirly stamp in the background inked with brown chalk ink.

The tag base is made from double sided printed cardstock and I have added  the punched out fleur-de-lys border down the left hand edge in the reverse colourway (containing light blue, black & lime).

The digi elements have been trimmed out after printing and collaged up after edging with the brown Versamagic chalk ink.

I added the little red heart at the apex of the gothic doors as a contrast and mirrored this by added some red satin ribbon through a silver eyelet applied with the Crop-a-dile.  The whole tag was then edged in more brown chalk ink.

Here is a set of 3 'Moos' done as a swap for UK Stampers Forum.  The theme is birds. They were made from printed digi- background papers, 7 Gypsies & Tim Holtz stamps, punched birds (Martha Stewart), Posca Pen & green chalk ink.  The 'Fly' word was stamped in green Memento ink and the rest in Versafine black and sepia.

Spooky !

Here is a little spooky Halloween offering I made using digi images from ARTchix Studio.  The image elements have been mounted on heavy card in two layers.

The top layer has been spritzed with a blue mica spray to add sparkle and has been mounted over another plate on foam squares.

All edges have been edges in fired brick Distress Ink.

A couple of small orange eyelets threaded with orange silk threads allow it to be hung and some pewter brads have been added at each corner to finish the piece.

Smile Pugsley !

You must all remember Pugsley Addams ........... you know that little brother of Wednesday and the son of Gomez & Morticia.

Well, I have used a digital stamp of Pugsley by The Octopode Factory as the focus of this bright tag - don't you love those eyes which I have accented with Glossy Accents.  The image was trimmed out after printing and coloured with copics and Posca markers.

The tag base was coloured round the edges with spiced marmalade Distress ink. The spotty backing paper is also digital and a piece of this was trimmed and stamped with a couple of  Stewart Gill Artaglio stamps in archival black ink before being matted onto black card. Some black rub-ons were added at the top of the tag and the mat applied onto the tag with double sided tape.

A plate with the word 'smile' was applied on foam pads and the words 'for us added with self adhesive letters.  Pugsley was stuck in place with Glossy Accents as shown.

I then added some lines onto the black card with a white Posca and tied a piece of plain black grosgrain ribbon through the hole in the tag to finish.
