Flowery Birthday .........

  

Here is a little flowery birthday card made using printed papers and die-cuts.  I started with a 6 x 6 inch square white card blank.  Matted a dark red card onto the base and then matted a printed paper over this.  I then applied a strip of pink Washi tape along the base of the card.

I die-cut the leaves from pale green cardstock and the flowers were diecuts from Kraftwork Cards. I assembled these before arranging them onto the card and adding the leaves (I used a hot glue gun).

I then stamped the sentiment (Papertrey Ink) in Versafine black ink on white card, trimmed this out and matted on more of the dark pink card.  It was then mounted over the Washi tape on foam pads as shown.  I then added some pink pearl cabochons to finish.

Not my normal style but I enjoyed making it and I do like the muted colours.

Ab Fab !!

Here is a very clean and simple card I made the other day.  I started with a white card base and stamped in Memento black ink with another stamp from ISC.  I love this rubber stamp as it lends itself to all sorts of colouring methods.  The curly head of hair demands colouring attention (not hair dye I might add !).

Once stamped I coloured with yellow and brown Posca markers for the hair and blue and pink for the facial features.

The word 'Fabulous' is again from Uniko and was stamped again in black Memento ink.  It's quite a large stamp but I love the swirly typeface and it makes a statement.

Finishing touch was to add scribbly corners freehand with a fine black Micron pen.

Geometrical ......

I have just made this card for the Less is More Blog Challenge No. 271 whose theme is one layer with 'Geometric Shapes or Patterns'.

I started with a 5 x 7 inch plain white card and chose a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I inked in various colours of Memento dye ink.

I passed the card through the Sizzix and embossed and transferred the ink onto the card at the same time.

The sentiment is from ISC and was inked in Versafine black and stamped as shown.

Heartfelt Wish .......

We all wish for things so why not wish for something heartfelt.  This card is made from a 5 x 7 inch white card blank.

I have used a Martha Stewart die punch to punch three identical hearts with dotty borders directly out of the front of the card.

I then cut 3 more of the hearts out of some 6 x 6 inch paper by Stampin' Up, lined them up on the back inside of the card and stuck them down so that they line up when the card is closed.

I stamped the sentiment (Uniko) with Versafine black ink and doodled a fine border around the card with a fine Micron black pen.  I also added little pink spots in the corners of the border with a pink Posca marker to finish.

If I only had wings ......

Happy Saturday everyone.......... a flighty card 'in the round' here from me.  It meets the April challenge for Happy Little Stampers - Mixed Media whose subject is 'Wings'. In fact there are exactly 30 wings on this !

I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card base and cut a matt slightly smaller than the card in textured black card and matted this onto the front.  I then took some printed paper with a crossover pattern and cut another matt slightly smaller and edged this with Memento yellow dye ink before applying to the card.

I cut another diecut circle of the same black card through the Sizzix Bigshot.  I used a circular birthday stamp and then first stamped with Versamark ink added some opaque white embossing powder and heat embossed with the heat gun.  Once cool this was applied centrally on the card raised on foam pads.

I then used Dylusions acrylic paints applied by brush on another piece of white card and once dry used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch to punch out a number of butterflies.  These were then shaped and stuck around the raised circle as shown.

Final finishing touch was to adhere some purple clear dots in a random fashion onto the background.

This also fits the bill for the 'That's Crafty Blog' fortnightly challenge whose title is 'All things Bright and Beautiful'.

I Liked the black with all the colours along with the 3D effect of the butterflies on this card !

Tangerine Dream

Happy Friday !! Here is a little card I have made to brighten someone's birthday.

I chose a 5 x 7 inch white card base and onto this layered Washi tapes to compliment the colourway.

The die-cut elements for the flower were layered and an orange brad added to hold them together.  The flower was then stuck in place with hot glue before adding the two die-cut leaves.

I then stamped the sentiment (Papertrey Ink) in black Versafine ink on white card which I trimmed and applied as shown on foam pads.

Snowflakes & Gingerbread Man Festive Hanger

I know it's not Christmas but .........

Here is a festive wall hanger made with three stout board bases joined together in a flexible way with Treasury Tags. This fits the bill for the Happy Little Stampers blog 'April Christmas Challenge' where you have to use at least one diecut on your creation ........ I lost count of how many I used on this project !

Seasonal Printed papers form the basis of a lot of elements and are passed through a Sizzix machine to produce a lot of the die cut embellishments.  I have used mainly Sizzix dies for the snowflake rosettes.

Some heat embossing was used on some of the plates and some stamping of Seasonal sentiments is also used using Stampin' Up inks.

The snowman was die cut from Kraft card and decorated with black buttons and white paper which has been pinked with a pair of pinking shears.

Some of the layered snow flakes rosettes consist of laser cut wooden elements too !

I made extensive use of a hot glue gun to adhere the decorations.

I also used embossing folders to provide some texture on certain areas.

The bottle brush Christmas Tree was made using a method devised by Effie of Efemera Ink and the instructions are HERE on her blog. I think she is sooooooo .... creative !

Bit of a labour of love but I think it turned out ok.  Hope you like it.

Face it ......

Over on the UK Stampers Forum we have a monthly Postcard swap where we make a postcard to a theme and then send it on at the end of the month through the post to our swap partner.  It has to be a bit robust to travel through the postal system 'Naked' (no envelopes allowed) so you have to consider what you put on it.

This months theme asks that you put a face on your card somewhere.  So this is mine.

I started with a piece of white card cut to 6 x 4 inches as the base.  I then chose and applied a background paper that I had made using the Gelli Plate over the entire card surface.

I stamped the face (ISC) onto more Gelli Plate paper, trimmed out and stuck in place along with loads of other printed collage elements.

The flowers and sentiment were stamped in Memento black ink using a set of Uniko stamps that I had won .....  Thanks Bev !!  I then finished off with loads of doodled dots and lines etc. added with various coloured  Posca Pens and a quick spray with matt acrylic lacquer to protect.

Life is Friendship .....

Needed a card to say thanks to a friend so made this card.  I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 in white card blank as the base.  I then cut two smaller matts, one in white and one in dark turquoise card.

I then stamped with a bubble wrap effect stamp in Memento summer sky dye ink.  I then also stamped in Memento black ink the life words (Wendy Vecchi - Studio 490).

I then stamped the girls (Crafty Individuals) in more memento black on a piece of white card and coloured with alcohol ink markers before trimming out.  This was embellished with some Glossy Accents on the girls clothing and when dry I used a Posca silver marker to highlight some spots on the frame.

This plate was then mounted as shown on foam pads.

The other words (Crafty Individuals) were stamped in black Memento on some white card, trimmed out and matted on another piece of the blue card before being stuck in place on more foam pads to finish.

I liked the muted colours and relative simplicity of this card.  Hope you do too !!

Whitespace, No Limespace !!

We have been challenged to make a Less is More card this week over on the Simply Less is More blog for week No. 270 to make a card with 'Whitespace but not White'.  So here is mine.

Lime green card base, a couple of paper flowers, some leafy paper and some adhesive pearls to embellish.

A stamped sentiment in Versafine black ink and Hey Presto !! there you have it.
