Topiary Thanks ......

This thank you card was made using Card Candi from Craftwork Cards.  I have accumulated loads of it so thought I would use some.  I started with a 5 x 5 inch white card blank.

I have enhanced the card with coloured glaze, swirl stamping with Versamagic chalk ink, a paper ribbon and pink pearl cabochon.

The 'Thank You' is from Papertrey Ink and is stamped in black Versafine.

The world in a new light !

Here is a bit of arty upcycling.  The box had originally contained cosmetics and actually has an acetate cover which I have not used.  This one is very blingy and was so difficult to photograph too !

I decorated the outside of the box with embossed card cut to size and applied on the back, top & sides.

The inside back of the box was stamped with a wavy stamp in Versamark ink and this was then heat embossed with Blonde Moments spring tropic lustre embossing powder. The inside back was then covered with some flower sequins and more of the beads in two strips.

I had some small scallop shells which I transformed with a couple of coats of metallic green acrylic paint.  I then stuck some pearlescent green/violet beads in each with hot melt glue.  The shells were applied with more hot melt glue as shown.

The image (don't know who from) was stamped in Memento black ink on white card, trimmed out and coloured with Alcohol ink markers.  I then applied some self adhesive cabochons and Stickles glitter glue.  this was mounted on some greyboard to raise the image.

The words were pre-printed and were coloured with AI's again and stuck into the shells.  Final touches were to add a few undersea metal charms at various levels with more hot glue which fits in with the challenge on City Crafter Challenge for this week which is 'Love Metal'.

In the round !

This card was inspired by the Craft Stamper Magazine  'Take It Make It' challenge for February where you are required to used stencils in your work.

I started by stencilling a background onto white card through a stencil.  The stencils used are old ones made by Tattered Angels.  I chose one and used low tack masking tape to hold it in place.  I used Distress Inks in rusty hinge and mustard seed to stencil the background which when heat set was stamped with a Zettiology stamp in Archival black ink.  This was trimmed out and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  I then added a few bits of white Posca pen round the eyes and a touch of pink alcohol ink on the lips with a pen.

I then used a white 5 x 5 inch cardblank and again selected another mask, attached with masking tape and coloured with more distress Inks in crushed olive, rusty hinge, mustard seed and old paper.  The inks were added with cut'n'dry foam.

I then selected a corner stamp from Elusive Images and stamped this in each corner of the card with sepia Archival ink, filling in the crocuses with the same pink alcohol ink pen.  I then used a Quickie glue pen over the pink crocuses and applied some Glamour Dust for a sparkle.

Some brads were added to the design as shown.

The sentiment is from Papertrey ink and was stamped in Memento black ink on a piece of white card followed by colouring with Distress Inks and once more heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

The central image was placed on foam pads and the sentiment stuck in place as shown.

Love .........

Happy Valentines Day everyone !

Love comes in many forms.  I found these stamps lurking in my craft room by Bombshell Stamps in the USA and thought that the tattoo style depicts love in a somewhat different way, but still does the trick.  I have had the stamps for ages and never used them ........... until now, that is !

I started with a 4 x 4 inch white card blank and stamped the two stamps as shown in black Memento ink.  I have then used alcohol ink pens to colour in the image.

Just for info I don't possess any tattoos but this one fits the requirements of The Less is More Challenge blog for this week whose subject is 'Love' in a one-layer card. Also meets the Artful Times challenge whose challenge is 'Romance'.

And I would like to say thanks all those that comment and follow my blog, it really is very appreciated, thanks everyone.

Happy Valentines !!

Pink & Grey

This first card is just in time for Valentines day and is in a theme of pink & grey, fitting the requirements for the Less Is More Challenge Blog for this week and also the City Crafter Challenge Blog whose theme is 'You Matter'.

I have painted 5 chipboard hearts in different sizes with satin acrylic paints in pink and grey.  When dry these have been overstamped with a cross stamp in dye inks applying grey on pink and vice versa.

I have then added a single faux gem to each heart and stuck them in place in a cascade on a 5 x 5 inch white card blank as shown.

The LOVE stamp is from Papertrey Ink and was stamped in Versafine black ink.  I finished the edge of the card with a freehand wavy line in pink alcohol ink.

My next card in the same theme features a single cupcake stamped in Memento black ink and filled with colour from alcohol brush markers.  The white card blank is 4 x 4 inches.  The sentiment is also stamped in Memento black ink.

Rainy Day !!

This 6 x 4 postcard is my monthly entry for February in the Uk Stampers Forum postcard swap.  This months swap subject is 'The Weather'.

I chose the main stamp which is from Stampotique and I love it ! The background is a Gelli Plate print.

I stamped the main image in Memento onyx black ink.  The other stamp was from PaperArtsy and is the top of a clown hat.  I also used a swirl stamp in the background.

The rainy day sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using Lapis Lazuli embossing powder.

I drew in the raindrops with glitter Jelly Roll.  Then I went a bit mad adding Posca marker colours, black Micron pen, more Gelly Roll and Alcohol inks to finish.

It will travel naked through the post so I sealed with matt acrylic spray.

2 - Wheeled Race ......

Here are three ATC's I have made for a monthly swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  This months them is 'Bicycle Race'.

I have used chipboard as the base for these 2.5 x 3.5 inch cards which I first covered with printed papers to make the base.

I have used a number of stamps, (tree, bicycle, first class, enjoy the journey, corner & garland) with Memento inks and collaged items to form the design. The bike was grounded by drawing a black line with a 0.2 black Micron pen. I then added a green faux gem in the trimmed paper circle and Posca pen in white and gold.

Final touch was to edge with barn door Distress ink applied on cut'n'dry foam.

Little One !!

This baby card was made as my entry into the Less is More Challenge Blog whose theme this week is 'Little Ones'.

I started with a 5 x 5 inch white card blank which I embossed through the Big Shot using a Tim Holtz sunburst embossing folder.

The stamp I used was from a set of baby stamps I have had for ages and never used from Joanna Sheen.

I have simply stamped in Memento onyx black and coloured with alcohol ink markers.  The word stamp is by Papertrey Ink.

Wasp Waste?

This clean and simple card was made for the challenge over at The Less Is More challenge blog for this week which is to follow a sketch. Why not pop on over there to see the sketch and enter ?

I know the title is weird but I really couldn't find my bee stamp as I wanted to make the wording say 'Bee Line'.  I could only find a wasp stamp, so looked at the word associations and ended up with the words 'Wasp Waste' Hope that provides an explanation.

I started by making a white card blank.

I cut a piece of heavy yellow vellum as shown, adhered a length of narrow black velvet ribbon on double sided tape before sticking in place.  The ribbon covered up the spots of glue behind.

The wasp stamp is by Tim Holtz and was stamped on a light yellow card plate in Memento onyx black ink.  The wasp was coloured with alcohol ink markers and given a gloss with Glossy Accents before mounting as shown on foam pads.

The word were printed on black Dymo tape and adhered with a short length of complimentary velvet ribbon between.

Think Homely Pink ............

Here is a little hanging plaque I have crafted.

I started with a chipboard diecut of a house which I covered in stripey paper.  I then used a stamp and Memento bamboo ink and stamped a collage stamp.

I used a swirl mask and Distress inks in barn door and dusty concorde applied through the mask with cut'n'dry foam.

I then stamped some bunting across the roof area in Memento onyx black ink. I heat embossed the edge of the roof with magenta embossing powder as I did with two chipboard chevrons which became the window tops.

The wordplate was made from stamped letters on pink cardstock matted over a pink gingham diecut.  This was placed as shown on foam pads and embellished with a couple of red faux gems.  I then used the same gems and outlined the roof edge and chimney.  I stuck some printed paper behind the window apertures.

I coloured a metal heart with alcohol ink and placed on the roof, applied a few cream paper roses as shown and outlined lots of areas with a pink and gold Posca pens to finish.

This could also be displayed with a chipboard stand at the back.
