Pink.....

Made a rather pink decorated tag for a swap on UK Stampers Forum ....

I started with tag blank and collaged a number of decorative papers as shown onto this base. I have used some gold/pink ribbon, adhesive gems, stickles glitter glue & a paper flower with a pearl centre to embellish the tag.

The sentiment is stamped with Versamark & heat embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed out and matted onto pink card before applying on foam pads. The whole tag is edged with pink Versamagic chalk ink and threaded through with some decorative trim to finish.

Pearly squares ....

A set of Inchies made for a swap in UK Stampers Forum ....

I punched out the 1 x 1 inch bases from recycled board from cartons and then chose some mushroom fleck card and stamped a flower stamp in Versamark ink which I heat embossed with opal pearl embossing powder.  I then selectively punched out 1 x 1 inch squares from this background and applied to the bases.

I applied a fine stripe of redline adhesive tape to each and sprinkled with Beadazzles to decorate. A thin strip of black paper lace was then applied next to this as shown.

I coloured some adhesive pearls with grey Copics to match and applied as shown.  Each Inchie was then edged in brown Versamagic Chalk ink to finish.

Thinking .....

Here is a CAS card made mainly with Kraft card !  I always think that kraft adds a sort of rustic, earthy and packaging look to whatever it is used on.

I took a 5 x 5 inch square Kraft card base and cut with a die another slightly smaller matt with a stitched edge die through the Sizzix Big Shot.

I then used a hexagon die and cut three apertures in this matt as shown.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder & the matt was then adhered on foam pads onto the card base.

Three small hearts were diecut from some teal design paper and adhered in the apertures on foam pads to finish.

Sparkle & Shine ......

This set of Inchies was made for a Swap over at UK Stampers Forum, whose theme this Month is 'Sparkle & Shine'

I have used embossed glitter card as the base, stamping with Versamark & heat embossing with metallic EP's, collaged elements, glass chips, gems and I dug out my trusty old Gold Krylon Pen to do the edging.  Might say it took a while to get it primed but it still did the trick !  They have been mounted onto mountboard to give them some rigidity.

If you fancy making some Inchies and joining in the Swap visit us by clicking HERE, where you can join the Forum and join in this and other Swaps that are running this Month.

Silver Wreath .......

This card is a variation on a theme using a different colourway.  I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card blank and matted this with some crimson cardstock and then matted again with some crimson diagonal stripe paper.

The wreath stamp was inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing tinsel before trimming out with a craft knife.  The berries were highlighted with dimensional pearls.  The wreath was then applied as shown on foam pads.

The noel was diecut from black cardstock and placed as shown to finish.  Very simple !

Winter Firs .........

A Christmas card in different colours again.  I chose a 5 x 5 inch white card blank as the base and matted this with a piece of blue and pink spotty paper (edged with black ink).

The fir trees (Time Holtz) were diecut from white card and applied with one flat and one raised on foam pads.  These were embellished with Stickles glitter glue.

I then diecut the deer from Kraft cardstock and used another die cut down to embellish his neck with some silver glitter card before mounting on foam pads. He was then applied over the trees as shown supporting the head end with more foam pads.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped in Versafine black ink on white card, trimmed out and again mounted on foam pads to finish. I just love those trees !!

Let It Snow ......

Who said pink wasn't Christmassy?  This card uses slightly less traditional colours for a change.  I started with a 6.6 inch white card blank and matted over this with Pink textured card and a slightly smaller pink & black spotty paper.

I then applied a stripey paper in matching colours as shown.  The wreath was stamped on white card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with glossy black embossing powder.  This was then trimmed out with a craft knife and the berries on the wreath coloured with a pink Posca marker before mounting on foam pads.

Final touch was to diecut the words 'Let It Snow' in black card and stick in place.

Noel Card

Christmas is coming so time to start making Christmas cards I guess !  This one features traditional reds and greens.

The base card is a white 6 x 6 inch card blank and I have used printed papers which have been trimmed and matted onto the card base.

The 'Noel' is diecut from plain green card and has been treated with Glossy Accents to add a shine and accentuate the colour.

The wreath was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with red glitter embossing tinsel from Ranger.  I have coloured the berries in the wreath with champagne liquid pearls and trimmed out the wreath with a craft knife before adhering on foam pads.

Leafy Celebration

I made this card using mainly Uniko stamps and clear embossing powder.  Bold colours but subtle embossing to allow the original colours to show through and acting as a resist to more colour layers added after the embossing.

I started with a 4 x 4 inch white card blank and cut a matt slightly smaller out of more white card.  I then set about colouring this with Adirondack and Distress inks in greens and blues applied on cut'n'dry foam.  I then randomly stamped the rough spots (Finnabair) in emerald ink.

I then stamped in the leaf stamps in Versamark ink and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder to act as a resist.

More of the same colours were added to produce a much darker layer and the excess wiped off with a dry paper towel to reveal the lighter lower layer.

The Celebrate Today sentiment was stamped in black Versafine ink on more white card, trimmed out, edged with blue distress ink and applied on foam pads as shown. Three green pearl cabochons were added to finish.

A bit moody but bold at the same time.

Joyous day !

This card was made to fit the challenge over on the Less is More blog for week 281 whose theme is 'Faux Bleach'.

I started with a 5 x 7 inch white easel card blank.  Then a cut a smaller matt out of white card and coloured this with barn door Distress Ink applied with Cut'n'Dry Foam.  This was dried with a heat gun.

I then chose a Paper Artsy stamp and stamped onto the coloured mat with Versamark ink and heat embossed the design with clear detail embossing powder.  I then went over the image again with more of the same colour Distress Ink.  I then covered the matt with some brown paper and ironed over the paper to melt and remove the heat embossing to reveal the lighter one coated layer below.

The matt was edged in black Memento ink and further stamped using more Distress ink and a flourish stamp.  The matt was then stuck in place.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was then stamped in black Versafine ink to finish.  This is one easy way to produce a faux bleach effect.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Guest Designer week 317

I was lucky enough to be invited to be the Guest Designer over on the City Crafter Challenge blog for this week 317 whose theme is 'White and Bright' and above is my card.  Here is the inspiration photo:

I started with a white 5 x 7 inch easel fold card as the base.

I then cut two mats through the Sizzix Bigshot, one in white card and one in a mauve on white design card using square stitched edge dies.  The white mat was to be decorated with the flower whilst the mauve mat was in line with the tea-towels in the photo.

I then stamped a flower image from a Judikins cube stamp in Versamark ink which I then heat embossed with fine white embossing powder.

I then used a waterbrush and tile to transfer and add Memento inks in Lady Bug, Lulu Lavender, Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Grape Jelly & Sweet Plum to add the petal colour and Desert Sand and Cantaloupe for the flower centre.  These colours represent the colours of the tulips in the photo.

Both mats were edged in black Memento ink before layering and adhering to the card as shown.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and was stamped in more Memento black ink.  Finally 3 sequins were added as shown to complete the card.

Thanks again to the City Crafter Challenge Blog for the inspiration !

If I only had wings ......

Happy Saturday everyone.......... a flighty card 'in the round' here from me.  It meets the April challenge for Happy Little Stampers - Mixed Media whose subject is 'Wings'. In fact there are exactly 30 wings on this !

I started with a 5.5 x 5.5 inch white card base and cut a matt slightly smaller than the card in textured black card and matted this onto the front.  I then took some printed paper with a crossover pattern and cut another matt slightly smaller and edged this with Memento yellow dye ink before applying to the card.

I cut another diecut circle of the same black card through the Sizzix Bigshot.  I used a circular birthday stamp and then first stamped with Versamark ink added some opaque white embossing powder and heat embossed with the heat gun.  Once cool this was applied centrally on the card raised on foam pads.

I then used Dylusions acrylic paints applied by brush on another piece of white card and once dry used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch to punch out a number of butterflies.  These were then shaped and stuck around the raised circle as shown.

Final finishing touch was to adhere some purple clear dots in a random fashion onto the background.

This also fits the bill for the 'That's Crafty Blog' fortnightly challenge whose title is 'All things Bright and Beautiful'.

My Photo

I Liked the black with all the colours along with the 3D effect of the butterflies on this card !

Spicy Little Man !

This is my postcard for the UKStampers forum swap for November.  I started with some red card cut to 6 x 4 inches and stamped with a Lawn Fawn script stamp the words 'Merry Christmas' in Versamark ink.  I then used detail white embossing powder and heat set with a heat gun.

The gingerbread man was then diecut out of Kraft card with a Sizzix die through the BigShot.  I embellished his arms and legs with white card trimmed into strips with a pair of pinking shears and backed his eyes and mouth with a bit of scrap black card.

I used black and white Posca pens to decorate his eyes and add buttons and cut out a dickie bow in green patterned paper and adhered as shown.

I then edged the card with gold Krylon Pen and sprayed the completed card with matt acrylic lacquer to protect it through the post.

Hope the recipient likes him !

Eye Eye !!

Here is a one layer card which meets the themed requirement of the Less is More blog challenge for week 236 which is 'The Eyes Have it !'

I started with a 4.5 x 4.5 inch plain white card blank and stamped this in Versafine using a Zettiology Stamp.  I then heat embossed with black opaque detail embossing powder.  I chose the stamp as I think the character on wheels has great eyes !

I then sparsely coloured with alcohol ink brush markers and underlined the wheels with a black micron pen to ground the image.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine onyx black and is from Papertrey Ink.

Framed Postcard

This is a postcard that have made for the UK Stampers monthly swap for August.  The theme is to use a frame on your postcard. I started with a piece of white card 6 x 4 inches which I coloured with Distress Inks applied direct to the card. I used faded jeans and victorian velvet which I dried with a heat gun.  The base was stamped around the edges with a swirl stamp and Memento black ink.

I then stamped a face stamp from Crafty Individuals in Versamark ink and heat embossed this with a Moonglow embossing powder which is metallic (doesn't show very well on the photo).  I used Distress Stickles in victorian velvet to infill the un-embossed facial details and edged this with a silver Posca Marker.

The frame was cut from mountboard using a movers and shapers Die from Sizzix and this was painted with metallic acrylic paint in turquoise.  This was stuck over the embossed face image firmly with Glossy accents.  I applied some black Stazon on the same swirl stamp to embellish the corners of the frame.

Finishing touches were to add the printed words and edge with white Posca marker.  The whole thing was then sprayed with acrylic sealer as it will end up in the post naked !

Underwater World

Over on UK Stampers Forum we have a very popular and successful monthly swap.  We call it a postcard swap and members have to make an arty postcard on a theme capable of being posted without any further protection to it's swap partners address !  The July theme is 'Underwater'. Why not visit and see what has been made so far?

I started my postcard by cutting a 6 x 4 inch piece of stout white card as the base.  Onto this I stuck a piece of Gelli Plate background I had made whilst playing with the plate and trimmed this to size.  I thought the colours looked very underwaterish (is that a word?).

I then used Stazon solvent inks and Memento dye inks to stamp a number of foliage stamps (Crafty Individuals), a fish stamp and the word stamp were also used (Third Coast).

I have also used Posca pens to colour in parts of the word and the little shoal of fishes.  Once complete I edged the card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with dark blue embossing powder.

Finally I sprayed the whole thing with a matt acrylic sealant to protect it when sent through the post. Don't know who will get it yet until the end of the month.

The world in a new light !

Here is a bit of arty upcycling.  The box had originally contained cosmetics and actually has an acetate cover which I have not used.  This one is very blingy and was so difficult to photograph too !

I decorated the outside of the box with embossed card cut to size and applied on the back, top & sides.

The inside back of the box was stamped with a wavy stamp in Versamark ink and this was then heat embossed with Blonde Moments spring tropic lustre embossing powder. The inside back was then covered with some flower sequins and more of the beads in two strips.

I had some small scallop shells which I transformed with a couple of coats of metallic green acrylic paint.  I then stuck some pearlescent green/violet beads in each with hot melt glue.  The shells were applied with more hot melt glue as shown.

The image (don't know who from) was stamped in Memento black ink on white card, trimmed out and coloured with Alcohol ink markers.  I then applied some self adhesive cabochons and Stickles glitter glue.  this was mounted on some greyboard to raise the image.

The words were pre-printed and were coloured with AI's again and stuck into the shells.  Final touches were to add a few undersea metal charms at various levels with more hot glue which fits in with the challenge on City Crafter Challenge for this week which is 'Love Metal'.

Rainy Day !!

This 6 x 4 postcard is my monthly entry for February in the Uk Stampers Forum postcard swap.  This months swap subject is 'The Weather'.

I chose the main stamp which is from Stampotique and I love it ! The background is a Gelli Plate print.

I stamped the main image in Memento onyx black ink.  The other stamp was from PaperArtsy and is the top of a clown hat.  I also used a swirl stamp in the background.

The rainy day sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using Lapis Lazuli embossing powder.

I drew in the raindrops with glitter Jelly Roll.  Then I went a bit mad adding Posca marker colours, black Micron pen, more Gelly Roll and Alcohol inks to finish.

It will travel naked through the post so I sealed with matt acrylic spray.
