City Crafter Challenge Blog - Guest Designer week 317

I was lucky enough to be invited to be the Guest Designer over on the City Crafter Challenge blog for this week 317 whose theme is 'White and Bright' and above is my card.  Here is the inspiration photo:

I started with a white 5 x 7 inch easel fold card as the base.

I then cut two mats through the Sizzix Bigshot, one in white card and one in a mauve on white design card using square stitched edge dies.  The white mat was to be decorated with the flower whilst the mauve mat was in line with the tea-towels in the photo.

I then stamped a flower image from a Judikins cube stamp in Versamark ink which I then heat embossed with fine white embossing powder.

I then used a waterbrush and tile to transfer and add Memento inks in Lady Bug, Lulu Lavender, Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Grape Jelly & Sweet Plum to add the petal colour and Desert Sand and Cantaloupe for the flower centre.  These colours represent the colours of the tulips in the photo.

Both mats were edged in black Memento ink before layering and adhering to the card as shown.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and was stamped in more Memento black ink.  Finally 3 sequins were added as shown to complete the card.

Thanks again to the City Crafter Challenge Blog for the inspiration !

Happy Alice !

I'm Alice mad at the moment I think !!

Here is a card I made as an entry for The Altered Alice challenge blog which has a theme of 'Stripes' this month.  The stripes in my piece are used as a background which I made using double sided adhesive applied onto a square piece of card and dusted over with metallic mica powders in bronze, copper and two types of gold.  Each stripe is individually applied and coated until the whole square is completed.

I then used chess piece rubber stamps from a plate by Chocolate Baroque to stamp a base onto the stripey card with black Archival ink.

More chess pieces were stamped and trimmed and Alice herself stamped and coloured with alcohol ink pens.  These were trimmed out and  mounted on foam pads for depth.

The text stamp was stamped directly onto the base card also.  The whole thing was mounted onto a mat of gold mirri board and then onto a background made by passing a square of Coredinations 'black magic' through the Sizzix machine using an embossing folder and this was sanded back to reveal the orange core.

12 Days of............Day 7

Here is my Day 7 of the 12 Days......... series. Once again I have been a bit creative with my bird stamp. You will have to think swan rather than dove !!!

I started with white cardstock and I made the waves using a damask heart stamp from Elusive Images which I stamped in archival black ink. Making a mask and stamping the top of the heart to make waves. These were coloured with Caran D'Ache water soluble wax crayons and a waterbrush. I used blue & green. Once dry I then used a few colours of Versamagic chalk ink and some clear stamps (?) to stamp a few layers of borders for the top half of the plate (Aegean blue, Aloe Vera, Purple Hydrangea & Pumpkin Spice).

I then overstamped with a text plate (PaperArtsy) in fawn Impress dye ink, and a ruler stamp (PaperArtsy) in chartreuse Impress dye ink at the very top.

The text was diecut using 'The Ginchiest' text from Sizzix and a Bigshot from brown dots printed paper and stuck in place with glue pen. The chipboard number 7 was coloured with tan ink and overstamped with text and applied with Glossy Accents to finish.

The swans....ahem !! were stamped using archival black ink and a polymer stamp (?) 7 times onto pale blue card and trimmed out. They were applied over the 'waves' with foam pads and small amounts of stickles added between the waves. The card was edged with cottage ivy Memento ink pad.
