Sympathy ......





One of those cards we never like to make .......

I made a 5 x 5 inch white card blank by measuring, cutting and scoring white card. I then die-cut a stitched-edge octagon from more white card and attached this centrally on the card front.

The floral/bird corner (Tonic Studio) was then cut from more white card and three metallic silver cabochons added to the flower centres. This was added on foam pads as shown over the octagon.

I then die-cut a label (Tim Holtz - Sizzix) and stamped this with the sentiment in Versafine black ink which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I again added a couple of the silver cabochons. The label was then added as shown on more foam pads ....

Hopefully this White-on-White design is tasteful whilst conveying the right message  ......

LIM Challenge #482 .....

 It's that time again for another 'Less Is More' Challenge ...... this time its an Alphabet Challenge ......




You are asked to play along with us and make a Clean And Simple card featuring  'An Automobile or Automobiles'. Ensure that you follow the rules on the Blog. Plenty of scope in this subject ......

This is my Design Team Card for the Challenge:


I have used a 6 x 6 inch white card base ......

I then chose a stamp from Crafty Individuals of a stylised Volkswagen Beetle and stamped on white card in Versafine black ink. This was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The image was then die-cut to a circle with a dotty edge die. I stamped the windows again and trimmed out to be added over the originals windows.

The images was coloured with Copic markers and a metallic chrome Tombow pen for the insignia and mirrors. I then added Glossy accents to the lights and the trimmed out windows.

The automobile circle was added directly to the card front and the windows added on foam pads over the original image.

The sentiment was printed on a labelling machine, matted onto black card and then added at the bottom on more foam pads to finish ......

CAS on Friday #256

Hi there and welcome to another super Challenge from the 'CAS on Friday' challenge blog .....


This time you are invited to make a card, following the rules, in the theme of:

'NEW HOME'
This is my Design Team card:


I used a 6 x 6 inch white card blank as a base......

I then die-cut a stitched round-edged oblong from white card and applied as shown on the card base.

The house stamp (Zettiology) was stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was then coloured with Distress ink washes and a waterbrush adding detail with a gold pen and Acrylograph pens. It was trimmed out and matted onto a gold blush card and trimmed to form a border.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine black Ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimmed out and matted on black card to form a border. It was added on foam pads.

Finishing touch was to add three clear cabochons .........

Daisy .......


Crafted a little gift Tag only 4 x 2 ins ....

The tag base is of brown Kraft chipboard. I stamped a daisy randomly in Versafine black ink and centred with white Posca pen.

I then cut a piece of printed paper (Crafty Individuals) and used a die to cut two 3D flowers into it which were centred with metallic gold cabochons. It was added as shown. I then applied some lines in white and green chalk ink and edged the tag in green Versamagic chalk ink.

The daisy (Stamp-It - Australia) was stamped in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder before colouring with a wash of barn door Distress ink applied with a waterbrush and centred with a yellow Sharpie pen. It was trimmed out, edged in black ink and applied as shown on foam pads.

I then added the word made from AAll & Create Washi tape and tied through the tag with some pink, green and metallic threads to finish .....

Hearts ......


A Clean And Simple Card .......

I cut, creased and folded a white card to 4 x 4 inches as the base.

I then cut a piece of white card to 3.75 x 3.75 inches and cut a stitched-edge square from this saving the cut-out square. I then scored 4 lines through the square as shown. I then die-cut some heart flowers in white card and added red hearts to them. I also die-cut the word from black card.

I added the cut-out square panel onto the card front onto the card adding the word at an angle in the aperture. I then added the three heart flowers on foam pads and also added a die-cut red ribbon to hold them together.

That's it ......

Journey .......


A greetings card ......

I cut and folded the base to make a 5 x 5 inches white card-blank ......

I chose some spotty paper and cut to 4 x 4 inches. I stamped with an ink-splash stamp (Tim Holtz) in Distress Oxide Speckled Egg & Weathered Wood.

I then took some white card and stamped an old text stamp (Hero Arts - Art, Life & Beauty) with Versafine black ink. This was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was trimmed and coloured with water soluble Neocolour II wax pastels in purple and blue. I then used a stencil and added some squares with texture paste. Once dry this was matted on some printed paper (Crafty Individuals). I then tied a length of grey/white bakers twine around this in a bow.

The little house (Zettiology) was also stamped in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It was trimmed out and coloured with Distress ink washes.

The printed sentiment was coloured with purple Distress Ink with a blending brush and edged in black ink.

I then added the background direct to the card front, The stamped image with twine as shown on the background, the house on foam pads and the sentiment on foam pads to finish the card ......

All Things ......


A card suitable for a male recipient which often is a difficult task .......

I used a 5 x 7 ins white card blank as the base. I then cut another slightly smaller piece of white card and dry embossed through an embossing folder. This was applied to the card front.

I then chose an old stamp (Crafty Individuals) and stamped in Versafine black ink on white card, heat embossing with clear embossing powder. The image was trimmed and coloured with Neocolour II water soluble wax pastels. I just added lightly at an angle and went over with water and my finger to provide earthy tones. This was matted onto text printed paper (Crafty Individuals) and light brown card. I added a cross-head screw brad.

I added some hessian in a strip along the base of the image on red-line tape and chose a printed sentiment which was edged in black ink and applied as shown.

I then applied the panel on foam pads over the embossed background to finish ......

Pears ......


Mad a card for a Challenge where you had to use Brown Kraft on your make over on UK Stampers Forum ......

I used a 5 x 5 inch brown Kraft card as the base. I selected a pear stamp (Great Impressions) and stamped twice on white card with Versafine black ink. This was then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I trimmed out the pear on the left and trimmed the image to 3 x 3 ins.

I then coloured with washes of Impress ink in Chartreuse, Olive Green & Peony Purple applied with a waterbrush. The main image was matted on purple card and black cards to form a double border and the single cut-out and coloured pear applied over the original on foam pads. I then added three clear glas cabochons to the pears.

The panel was then applied centrally onto the card front .....

The sentiment (C Dee's) was stamped in Versafine black on white card, trimmed, heat embossed with clear EP and again matted on the same cards.  It was added as shown on more foam pads to finish ......

Agapanthus ......


Made a Clean And Simple DL Birthday Card card on a white card blank .....

I die-cut three stitched-edge squares from white card. I then chose a stamp of an agapanthus bloom (Stampendous) and stamped the three panels with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and set with a heat gun. Each panel was then edged with Versamagic purple chalk ink.

The agapanthus image was enhanced with Acrylograph violet and pale yellow pens. The three panels were added to the card front on foam pads as shown.

The sentiment (C D's) was stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimmed and edged with black ink and adding direct to the card as shown.

Finishing touch was to add three black sequins to the panels .....

Beauty .....


An Artist Trading Card made to trade .....

The base was cut from re-cycled food packaging and cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I then cut a background from some swirly inked paper made earlier, to the same size.

I chose a swirl stamp (Paperartsy) and stamped a few times with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The background was then attached to the base and edged in more gold embossing powder to frame the ATC.

I coloured some paper flowers with Starburst stain dabbers and dried to produce the beautiful mica gleam in the damson and maroon colours of the background. They were attached to the background and centred with a metallic gold cabochon.

The printed word was trimmed, edged in maroon Versamagic chalk ink and applied as show to complete the ATC ....

Memorable ......

 


Made an Artist Trading Card for trading .....

I cut a piece of printed paper for the background to 2.5 x 3.5 inches and treated this with alcohol inks. I then stamped in black Versafine ink which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I also treated a die-cut with inks and applied at the bottom.

I added 5 little die-cut squares from magenta glitter card and applied as shown, edging with black Micron pen.

The printed word was coloured with pink Distress ink and matted on black card then added as shown. A golden butterfly charm was added along with 3 glitter drops.

The ATC was finished by edging with magenta Versamagic chalk ink to finish. If you would like to trade please email me at sidscards9@hotmail.com ......

Blu ......


A set of 3 Artist Trading Cards made for a swap over on the I Love IndigoBlu Facebook Group using mainly IndigoBlu products in their making. I have called the series 'IndigoBlues' .....

Made an ink on paper background in blues and overstamped this with a large poppy stamp in black Versafine Ink. I then trimmed out three suitable backgrounds to the customary 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I followed this with more stamping using IndigoBlu stamps in green and blue Versafine Clair inks. Infilling the shaped with white Posca pen.

I then used an alphabet stamp and stamped in Versamark Ink before heat embossing with white embossing powder.

I then stamped the sentiments on white card with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, trimming out and colouring the background with a wash of green Distress Ink. These were then edged with green Versafine clai ink.

The die-cut flowers were coloured with a green & gold mica dabber and allowed to dry giving a lovely sheen to the flowers. They were added along with the sentiments on foam pads. I also added a metallic cold cabochon to the flower centres.

The ATC's were finished with an edging of Krylon gold pen. Hope my swap partner likes the series when she receives them ....

Wings ......


A card made for a Challenge over on Country View Challenges Blog - the theme is 'Things With Wings' .....

I decided to go wildlife with a stamp and paper from Crafty Individuals. I stamped in black Versafine ink on white card twice, heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I trimmed out the ducks on one of the images.

I coloured the background image (not the ducks) in Distress ink washes, adding some posca pen dots to the design panel on the left. I then added some Nuvo gold drops to the grasses.

I also coloured the trimmed out ducks and applied over the original image on foam pads. The panel was matted on pale green, black, printed paper and black matts to form a frame. This was added to a 6 x 6 inch white card blank.

The printed words were edged in black and applied as shown on foam pads to finish the card ...... loving that stamp ......

LIM Challenge #481 ......

This is my Design Team card for the Challenge:


I made a 5 x 5 inch white cardblank from 300gsm white card ....

The daisy image (Tuscan Rose) was stamped on white card in Versafine black ink and this was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then chose a circular dotty-edge die and cut out the flower panel. I coloured the daisies with Distress ink washes and a waterbrush.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine black ink on white card and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a smaller similar die to cut this out.

I added the daisy panel directly to the card front and the sentiment on foam pads to finish the card ....

CAS on Friday #255

Welcome once more to another fortnighly Challenge over on the 'CAS on Friday' blog .....

This time you are invited to make a Clean And Simple Card with a theme of:

'SPRING' 

so let you creativity run free with this one ! It has to follow the rules though ......



This is my Design Team card for the Challenge:




I used a 4 x 6 ins white cardblank in landscape orientation as the base.

I then used a stamp by Crafty Individuals which was stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The images were coloured with watercolour brushpens.

I then die-cut the image with a stitched-edge die and stamped some Spring blossoms in Versafine Clair ink around the edge, adding some gold enamel dots to some of the blossoms.

The panel was then added to the card front. The sentiment was stamped in black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder before trimming out and matting on black card to form a fine border. This was then added on foam pads to finish the card ........

Expressive .......


Made a Clean And Simple Card .......

I used a 5 x 5 inch brown Kraft card as the base.......

I then stamped a keyhole stamp (Cherry Pie) in black Versafine ink on white card and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured the face with Distress Ink washes and a waterbrush before trimming out and edging with black ink.

The background (Aall & Create) was die-cut from black card and applied to the card front.

The sentiment is made from Washi Tape (Aall & Create) applied to white card and trimmed. the Keyhole and the sentiment were then added on foam pads to finish the card .......

Roots ......


A Decorated Tag made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ......

The background was made with Distress Oxide washes and cut to size. I chose some leaf & butterfly stamps from Crafty Individuals in varioous colours of Versafine Clair inks. I also stamped some birds in Versafine black ink. The butterflies were treated with Glossy Accents.I added some white and red dots with Posca markers.

The tag was then edged with a green Inktense pencil and it was spread with a waterbrush.

The words are made from Washi tape on card, trimmed and added as shown. These were edged in black Micron pen.

I added a copper eyelet with the crop-a-dile and tied through with two shades of green ribbon. I finished the tag with some lime green dots ......

Blues .....


A set of three Artist Trading Cards made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum ...... in the theme of 'The Blues' .......

The bases were cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches from re-cycled food packaging ...... I then made a background from inks on paper and stamped this with a variety of stamps in shades of blue and black using Versafine Clair inks.

I then chose some patterned papers and die-cut circles from them, dry embossing through an embossing folder for texture. I coloured the raised portions with blue Distress Inks and applied two to each ATC, edging in black Inktense pencil and a waterbrush.

Each ATC was edged in blue Inktense pencil and a waterbrush.

The ATC's were finished with three blue dewdrops .....

Chick .....


Made another Octagonal Easter Gift Box, featuring an Easter Chick this time .....

The box and accessories are all dies from Jaded Blossom and they were cut from white and coloured cards. The box was then assembled and the front and back added on foam pads. The eyes, brows and beak and two egg wings were attached as shown ...... 

The handle was added with black brads and tied through in a bow with an orange grosgrain ribbon and a little yellow bow added too !

The sentiment was stamped on white card with Versafine black ink, trimmed and matted on orange card before adding on more foam pads.


I added a feather at the back as a tail held in place with another orange egg stuck with hot glue to finish ......

A fun box and great for a child filling with choccy eggs ......

Tulips .....


A set of Twinchies made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum in the theme of 'Spring Florals' ....

The bases were cut to 2 x 2 inches from re-cycled food packaging. The background is an ink on paper type and has been trimmed to fit. I used an abstract stamp to stamp the background in Versafine Black before applying to the bases and edging in black Posca pen.

The tulips (See D's) were stamped on white card in Versafine black ink, coloured with brush markers and trimmed out before adding to the background. They were edged in Inktense black pencil and a waterbrush. 

Finishing touched were to add some white lines with a Posca pen and add a sparkly dot to each ......

Numbers .....


Here are a set of Inchies made for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

The bases were punched from re-cycled food packaging. The background was made by coating a piece of card with a sheet of double sided adhesive then applying gilding flakes to cover it completely. This was then dry embossed through a 3D embossing folder (Tim Holtz) and swiped over with black Stazon ink to highlight the embossing. It was trimmed into 1 x 1 inch pieces and these were added to the bases for strength.

I then stamped some numbers and added these, edging with black Posca pen to finish .....

Ride .....


A card made recently for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum .....

The card base is 4 x 6 inch white card base. I have cut a slightly smaller matt from some printed paper and applied this to the card. I edged it with a brown gel pen in dashes. I then cut a label, edged with brown ink and applied this at the bottom of the card.

I then die-cut two shapes from white card with stitched edge dies. Both were edged with brown ink.

I then chose a bicycle stamp (Papertrey Ink) and stamped in grey ink onto the larger matt, colouring selective areas with a brown pen. I added two buttons to represent the wheels which were tied through with brown embroidery thread. This was added to the matt as shown on foam pads.

The sentiment (Papertrey Inks) was also stamped in grey ink on the other shape and this was also added on foam pads.

I applied 5 adhesive gems to finish the card ......

Specimen .....


A set of Artist Trading Coins made for a swap over at UK Stampers Forum ......

The bases are made from re-cycled food packaging die-cut to 2.5 inches diameter. I then die-cut three more from white card and applied strips of Washi tape across the white backgrounds.

I stamped the bee in Versamark ink and heat embossed with some mustard embossing powder, infilling with blue, yellow and black posca pens.

The word (Tim Holtz/Sizzix) was reverse cut with a die and backed with black card before trimming and applying as shown.

Each of the Coins was then edged with gold Krylon pen to finish .......

Bunny ......


Crafted a little Easter gift box today ......

The box, handle and bunny were die-cut from stout double-sided papers and assembled with red-line tape. The handle was added with two blue brads.

I have decorated front and back with die-cut flowers made from card and printed vellum, each centred with an adhesive pearl. The bunny has a black gem for its eye and a little yellow pom-pom for its tail and is added on foam pads.

The sentiment (Papertrey Ink) was stamped in black Versafine on white card and matted on some of the patterned paper and then adhered on foam pads.

I have tied through the handle with some grosgrain ribbon to finish. Lovely to add a few eggs and give for a gift for Easter .....

LIM Challenge #480 ......

Well here we are again inviting you to join in with us at 'Less Is More' and make a Clean And Simple card using these colours .....

This is my Design Team card for the challenge:


I used a 6 x 6 inch white card as the base. I then cut a white matt to 3.5 inches square and stamped this with a scribbly flower in Versafine black ink which was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I then used 'Stream' Adirondack Dye ink and a waterbrush to colour the flower as shown ...... once happy I then drew in the stem with a black Micron pen .......

The white matt was again matted on aquamarine and black cards leaving a small border and this was applied directly to the card front.

The sentiment was also stamped on white card in Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder before trimming out and again matting on coloured and black cards. This was applied on foam pads as shown to finish the card ..... simple !
