Hearty Words !

I have entitled this card in line with the Less Is More Challenge for week 191 whose theme this week is 'Mostly Words'.

The stamps that came to mind and are by Stampers Anonymous by Tim Holtz (Urban Chic) and I had never used these two stamps together.  Often words are more important than pictures in our lives but the two together can hold more meaning too !  I thought that these two stamps were ideal in depicting this.

I started with a 4.5 x 4.5 inch white card blank.  I used Marvey Embossing Pens to selectively colour the heart stamp which was then stamped and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, heated from below with a heat gun.

The subtle shine provided by the embossing is captured on the pic above and this also enlivens the colours too.  I then stamped the words in Archival black ink.

Finishing touches were to add 4 self adhesive gems to the ribbon garland on the heart and I drew a couple of corners onto the card to frame it with a fine black Micron pen.

Elegance .....

This 4 x 4 inch card was made from a piece of white cardstock which I trimmed to size.  I started by sticking a short length of TH Tissue Tape with a music theme across the card at an angle.

I then used a 0.2 black Micron pen to draw two lines above and below the tape to emphasize.

Next I stamped the ballerina (by Stamping Bella) in Archival black ink as shown.  Her dress was coloured with Marvey alcohol ink markers.

Finally the printed word 'Elegance' was edged with the same Micron pen before sticking in place as shown.  Very simple but effective I think !

This card also fits the bill for the Less is More Challenge blog for week 190, the theme for which is Face The Music & Dance.

Three Times A Lady

These three ATC's are for a swap over on UK Stampers Forum.  The monthly themes are song titles and the September title is 'Three Times A Lady'.  These are my trio of ATC's.

The cards were cut to size from 300gsm white cardstock. The backgrounds are from a 6 x 6 paper pad by Basic Grey called 'Infuse' and I have overstamped a swirl design in coloured Impress inks.

The images were collected over time from various websites and have been printed and trimmed out before being glued in place.  They were edged with a fine black Micron Pen.  All edges were coloured with Distress Inks.

Each ATC was then labelled with a DYMO label as shown and finished with a white dot made with a Posca marker in each corner.

HOME .........

This months postcard swap over on UK Stampers Forum has a theme of Architecture/Stone.  We are to make a 6 x 4in postcard which will travel through the post 'naked' to it's recipient.

I cut the base from white 300gsm cardstock and used some background paper to provide a little colour.

I then stamped a door, windows and brickwork in Archival black using a set of Stampington acrylic stamps.  All stamps came from the set.

Once stamped I coloured in some areas with Posca pens in turquoise, gold and white before edging the postcard with broken china Distress ink.

Finally I sprayed with a thin coat of matt acrylic lacquer to seal.  I liked the simplicity of the card.  What do you think?

My Bear 'Felt' Blue !

Couldn't resist the pun and after a period of craft inactivity I decided to make a felt teddy !  So here he is sporting his blue buttons.

He stands 8 inches tall.  He's not perfect but no-one is after all.
