My Favourite Place Is........

I decided to make a framed collage so I up-cycled a box that I had as the frame.  The papers used are from Craftwork Cards and I have used diecuts to make the flowers.

I used the Tim Holtz Sizzix tattered flowers die and coloured some old book pages with Dylusions spray inks in fresh lime and cut grass drying with the heat gun.  The flowers were then layered and stuck together with PVA glue.  Each one has a pink Stickles centre.

The spotty foiled swirls were also diecut using the TH elegant flourished die.  The gold corrugated liner was backed with some stripy paper and stamped with a music stamp in vintage sepia Versafine ink and a piece of white lace adhered with PVA glue as shown.

Some swirls were added to the base and the flowers stuck in place with glue dots.  The name plate was stamped in Memento onyx black on white card with a Crafty Individuals stamp and this was swooshed over with an Impress chartreuse inkpad before trimming out and mounting as shown. It was edged with dark green alcohol ink pen.

Final touches were to add two more swirls at the front and some Stickles in pink.  This one fits the bill for the City Crafter Challenge blog No.199 'Flowers and Lace'.

Baby Quilt

I have just made this mini quilt for a friend who is expecting a little baby girl.  Love the colours, it's 100% cotton and will come in useful I am sure.  It was all done on my trusty Janome sewing machine.

Sunshine

Over on UK Stampers Forum we do a monthly Postcard swap which must be sent to its destination through the post as it is.  This months challenge is 'Sunshine' , something I am sure we all sorely miss at the moment. So I made this 6 x 4 inch PC.

I used papers from Graphic 45 and the base card was first covered with an orange spotty print.

I then stamped a sunburst with a TH Stampers Anonymous stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossed with a couple of colours of Ranger opaque embossing powders.

Next I stamped a row of grungy stars (also TH) in Memento black at the top. I used some gold Precious Metal colour paint with a loose brush to extend the sunburst to the top and side edges of the card.

The sun was made from a circle of card painted with coral Precious Metal paint, stamped with spots and applied as shown. It was edged with black Micron pen.

Two strips of paper were edged with black soot Distress Ink and applied horizontally at the bottom.  Some accents were added with a white Posca Pen and the words Sun & Shine were added with Graphic 45 stickers.  The whole card was sprayed with acrylic spray to set it and protect through the post.

Love Actually

Love is in the air ............. we hope !!  I used a cream card blank as the base.  Then got to work stamping four contemporary hearts using Chocolate Baroque stamps.  I used Memento tuxedo black so that I could use alcohol inks to colour some of the design in red.  Memento just does not bleed with alcohol inks and I prefer it to Archival.

The hearts were stamped on white card and cut out before colouring.  I also used a gold Posca marker to infill some of the areas.  Some spaces were left white too. The sentiment (also from Chocolate Baroque) was stamped on white card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder.  The sentiment plate was coloured round the edge with the same red AI pen.

The hearts were mounted as shown with the top edges held in place with foam pads which also trapped a fine piece of red gosgrain ribbon entwined round the hearts.

The sentiment plate was placed on foam pads over a strip of red Washi tape to finish.

This meets the City Crafter Challenge for this week No. 198 'Love Bug'.

I have coloured some selected areas with a green Spectrum Noir alcohol ink pen.

The card is finished with a Dymo label saying 'ENJOY' !!

Love Story

This Valentines card is made from a base of craft board on a card blank.  I have used printed papers with a love theme and layered a number of these on the card.

First layer is a pink horizontal stripe which I have punched through at two corners.

Next Layer is made from pink XO paper matted on some word paper.

Two hearts were stamped on more paper with Versamark and a stamp and these were heat embossed with some Ranger red gloss powder.  These were trimmed out and one applied over the other on foam pads.

I then made a bow from red organza ribbon and applied this as shown.  A metal heart embellishment was then placed beneath the bow whilst another plain metal heart was stuck in place top right.

Most edges were inked with Distress Inks to hide that 'white' edge effect.

Finishing touches were to add some red Stickles glitter glue as shown and to apply a printed sentiment with the words 'Love Story.

This meets the requirements for the City Crafter Challenge Blog No.196 where you have to have a Valentines card or use the word Story ...... I have done both here !
